BBC: HK Leader Denies Chinese Scolding

On December 20, 2004, BBC reported that Hong Kong's leader Tung
Chee-hwa has denied that Chinese President Hu Jintao criticized him for
poor governance.

During the celebration marking 5 years of Macau's handover to China, Hu
told Tung that he should raise his administration's abilities. In
contrast, Hu praised the "great achievements" which had taken place in
Macau since it became part of China.

Hu made no mention of Taiwan, for which the "one country, two systems"
formula was devised.
