I know this isn't really the right newsgroups to ask the question, but those
diabetic newsgroups that I can subscribe to are american and don't have any
answers for me.

I would want to know more how things are in Hong Kong when it comes to diabetes.

What kind of insulins are common in Hong Kong? Is it possible to get insulin
produced by Novo Nordisk?

Do you pay yourself for the whole cost of the insulin and blood test strips?
How much do you have to pay?

Doctors that are specialized on diabetes, are they more expensive than other
doctors? How much do I have to expect for a normal health check?

What about eye bottom photographing? Is this done periodically or something
you have to yourself get an appointment with an eye clinic or will your doctor
see to that you get it annually? How much may this cost?

If you get some complications, and need to hospital treatment, will this be
expensive or somehow covered by the social welfare?

Do you need to have a private health insurance like in US? How easy is it to
get a such in HK for a diabetic and how high may the premium be?

Thanks in advance for your reply,

//Aho
