Both Matson and Sea Land ship back and forth between Cali and Hawaii. I
think Matson is around Compton, not sure 'bout Sea Land.

Aloha:

Yes! 14 more days, my wife of 30 years and I, will be making our move
to Hawaii. Still have alot to do. Leaving Santa Cruz (Hawaii's 9th
Island) Sat. the 23rd to stay over night near the airport. Leave First
Class on Hawaiian Air for THIS big event.

If we have time from apartment hunting and church we may see you at the
A.C.H. picnic.

Looks like June 16th will be the last time I'll be on the air for
Auntie Nora and the others at KHDC 90.9 fm. It's been a fun six months
and I learned alot.

Anyone know if there is a public radio station on Oahu that plays
Hawaiian music?

>Contact Matson Lines. They have offices in Honolulu, Oakland and Long
Beach. You can make arrangements by phone, drop your pickup off at the
dock in Oakland and they will do the rest. If vehicle is dropped off by
end of working day Thursday, it may be in Honolulu at the end or middle of
the following week. Cost is about $900.

My husband and I are really envious!! He is retired military but do not
plan to move to Oahu for two more years. I am still finishing extension
classes for my "midlife career change."

We currently live in San Diego - used to be our choice for retirement,
but then we went to Hawaii and fell in love. Now we go back every chance
we get.

In fact, we are going to Oahu for a two week vacation over Thanksgiving.
Not wanting to wait until the last minute we have had tickets and motel
reserved and paid for since January! Can't wait.

Best of luck to you.

I am shipping via Matson next month. They ship out of Long Beach,
Oakland, Portland, and Seattle.

We are also getting ready to ship a truck to Hawaii (Big Island).

Have you made the move or found out how much it will cost??

Good luck....

Just got my car FOB this past Monday. Cost me $1750 (OUCH!!!) to ship
my car from New York City to Honolulu. My car was trucked over from
NYC to Long Beach, CA and then shipped on Sea-Land from Long Beach to
Pier 51A here on Sand Island. The Sea-Land portion according to the
shipping receipt was for about $775.
