I have wonderful memories of beautiful muumus worn by beautiful women
everywhere in Waikiki.
What happened to that special tradition?
Aloha

If you are looking for kama'aina in mu'umu'u in Waikiki, the only
place you will find them is on the gals working the desks at the hotels.
or in the shops to sell to the tourists.
last time we were home in Hawaii, the locals RARELY went to Waikiki.
not like it was when we grew up there...

John Szalay:
Mahalo for the information and the corrections to the spelling of the
Hawaiian words. It is a special moment indeed to arrive at the hotel
desk be welcomed by the beautiful young ladies wearing the mu`umu`u.
Many times they also wear a flower in their hair. That says so much.
aloha oe
