Weiss Kreuz marathon, anyone?

dangerous needles. And swords. And a clawed gauntlet.
And wire. And... Well, lots of stuff. They even run
dangerously with a golf club at one point! I think we
could learn from these fine, upstanding, individuals.
And, no, I'm not going to start sending these posts to
the scissors group. I just figured this would be a
special occasion due to the educational opportunities.)
I've been pondering a Weiss Kreuz marathon for quite a
while, because Bruce and Gordon haven't seen it (unless
Gordon is watching it on his own, who knows) but of course
I can't get a hold of Gordon to see if he wants to do it.
It's a good length for a marathon, I think. And I want
to give it a while longer before I resume Sailor Moon and
do yet another Flame of Recca 2-part marathon (or 3-part,
whatever works).
So I'm pondering the Saturday after Memorial Day, ie two
Saturdays from now. Start around 2 or so as usual. I
would like to bring people in for the long haul, ie watch it
all, but not everyone needs to do it. You should at least
plan to watch the first 13 episodes if you can, so you can
see some of the good stuff. Each episode, barring the last
one (#24), is roughly 20 minutes. Or slightly less, without
the intros and outros.
Weiss Kreuz is a story about assassins. If you love
psychopathic lunatics, you'll love Schwarz even more. ;)
I think they had a little fun with names because the group
that would TECHNICALLY be the good guys are Weiss (white)
and the group that would TECHNICALLY be the bad guys are
called Schwarz (black). And I admit 3 out of 4 Schwarzers
are pretty danged bad... But the leads can only be called
good to whatever point you can call homicidal lunatics
good. ;) And each group has one person that might as well
be in the other group. There is a third group, a girl
group, but they weren't called grey. ;) They're Schreient
(shriek).
It's a pretty psychotic and sad series, so of course I like
it. And I LOVE Schuldich and his deranged laugh, but he's
a Midorikawa Hikaru character so I'm sure that goes without
saying. => He's one of Schwarz and boy is he a sicko.
If not nearly so much of a sicko as Farfarello is. Well,
Schuldich is cute whereas Farfarello is disgusting and I
think we all know that a prime lesson of anime is to be
very very very superficial. ;)
Let me know if anyone wants to do it. And, preferably,
whether you'd prefer to watch a few or all of it. Since
I DON'T want to have to set aside time for nothing. Though
if I could get a hold of Gordon I would probably be content
to only get him and Bruce through all of it. And to watch
it again myself.
I don't like this series nearly as much as Flame of Recca,
but I reckon that probably also goes without saying. ;)
And Schuldich is NOT as cute as Mikagami.
If'n ya wanna know more about Weiss Kreuz, or at least
about Schuldich and Schwarz, feel free to trek over to my
Midorikawa Hikaru group (where there be pictures, lots of
talk about the Schwarz boys, beware of spoilers, and a nice
sound clip of Schuldich tormenting poor little Omi and
laughing very cutely). We're about to start writing a
Schuldich Exquisite Corpse, because I recently declared
him The Official Cute And Cuddly Group Sex Bunny.
Which is altogether wrong and evil and sadistic, but
that's exactly why I did it. ;) (I was trying to Run With
Psychopathic Sadistic Lunatics, obviously.)

I play with fire because the shimmering flames make everything look
so beautiful around them. And these same flames inevitably lash out
to burn me, to leave me wailing in pain. Then they dance shyly away

Ah, figures that a lot would be going on. Maybe I should
do it on Sunday then. Any input from anyone? My kids
won't be home, so I'll have a pretty open schedule.
Could also do it Friday evening and stay up all night,
then sleep until the show and/or party. ;)
OR if Bruce and Gordon aren't interested in a party or a
show that a lot of people will be at, I can still do
Saturday night with them. I definitely cringe at the
thought of a lot of people right now. ={ Though maybe
I should try to venture out of the house again. Sometime.
Preferably WITH weapons of mass destruction. ;)
I guess I'll try to get a hold of Gordon again, see what he
thinks. And then ask Bruce. He's more social than I am,
so he might prefer going to the party.
This'll be my only chance to show until until about a month
afterward, most likely. So it'll need to be either sometime
that weekend, or never.

had no intentions of going to the Oghr show, and he knew
nothing about a Subgenius party so he wasn't planning on
that either. I suspect that wherever the party is, it's
too far away for non-vehicular people like Bruce and I.
={ And I've never heard any Oghr music (only Ogre vocals),
so I'm not gonna die if I miss the show when I don't even
know what it'll be like.
And I know there's not much point in doing the marathon on
Sunday for other people who are going out Saturday night,
since I know perfectly well that they'd be too tired to
come anyway. ;) Plus, they could easily catch the first
12 or 13 episodes as recommended before any show or party
would start.
So if Saturday works out for Gordon, IF I can get a hold
of him before then, I'll probably keep the plan as is.
And I doubt it would be competition with anything else,
since it'd only be a few anti-social recluses. ;)
