That depends on what you're after, because China is very large country
with lots of things to see. First time visitors often visit Beijing and
Xian, but if for instance you're after scenery you might consider
Guilin/Yangshuo, Yunnan or even Tibet.

Personally, I still think that the best way to tackle this is to discuss your interests with the travel agent that will be handling your flight tickets, insurances, etc. They will be able to suggest what are available and what will best suit your financial limits (if any). Package deals are not a bad idea, if you will be visiting any country for the first time.
