Hi, I will be making a (relatively) brief visit to Alaska in early June
this year and would like to try sea kayaking over either
one or two days (Haven't been sea kayaking before, but I paddle in a
dragonboat). Am currently looking at something on the Kenai peninsula.

Any recommendations as regards operators/trips either for that area - or is
there a better location around Skagway ? I would really like to get up
close and personal to some icy stuff since I might never get the chance
again ?

This is not something our local (Australian) travel agents can provide any
information on.

Thanks

We don't have any tidewater glaciers in Homer (Kenai Peninsula) for you
to get close to. But we do have a really good sea kayaking company here.
If you would settle for sea otters and possibly whales, come to Homer.

You might find some useful info from some of the following:

I would recommend SE Alaska and the following for that area:

Enjoy,

Try Millers Landing :

They are your best chance if "ice in the water" + Kenai is what you want.
I have not been to Millers since 2002 though. Nice folks then...
