For BEST I vote for the LADY weather forcaster on Channel 11 ( I don't
know her name)... She is pretty accurate even with her long range
forcasts...
For WORST I vote for Tom McPhail.. He is actually quite consistent if
you just assume the weather will do OPPOSITE of what he says... It
wouldn't be so bad if they didn't keep running those "Real Weather
Person" commercials... Does he have a PHD in Meteorology or something
that qualifies him to represent himself as special... I think not...
But overall the weather forcasting in Anchorage seems pretty much a
crap shoot... Starting around mid-October, the forcasters generally
are ALWAYS predicting snow about two days away, and they keep shifting
the predictions like this until it Finally does snow... this is
useless information...
Actually, I think they are just pawns of the studded tire industry and
like to use these tactics to try and get as many people in to change
their tires before the first snow falls...
For the worst, my vote goes for Robert Forgit at KTUU. He seems to
think that all of his viewers are 4 years old and are switching between
teletubbies on KAKM and his forecast. Even the Weather Channel local
forecasts are lame--on top of usually being wrong, they also tend to
skip entire days. For example, it'll say Sunday night cloudy, Monday
rainy, Monday night clear and then it'll jump to the longer range
forecast, but that starts on Wednesday. What happened to Tuesday?
