Student participants in PANAFEST are encouraged to arrange
it with their campuses to earn ACADEMIC CREDIT for their
experience. From 7 to 12 units is recommended.
Arrange with your faculty advisor or a faculty member
that you know to write a paper, after returning, on a topic
of interest to you. This can often be arranged under
Experiential Education, Independent Study/Research,
Field Study/Research, etc.

of the Panafest Board of Trustees, notes that Panafest is
the largest Pan African festival in the world. The
Panafest board expects 10,000 Africans and people of

PANAFEST events are scheduled for Accra, Kumasi,
Cape Coast, and Elimina.
The group will depart from JFK and BWI on
July 19 (JFK), July 25 (BWI), and July 26 (JFK).
The return date will be August 4 (JFK) and August 5
(BWI).

EXTENDING YOUR STAY
_______________________
Delegates will be able to extend their stay after
official PANAFEST activities are concluded at their
own discretion. Delegates exercising their options
must indicate their intent at the time of registration
but not later than March 30, 2001. Registration for
the PANAFEST shall conclude by April 30, 2001.
The official air carrier for the PANAFEST event is
Ghana Airways. Ghana Airways will provide a
discounted rate for International Delegates
traveling from North America [New York and
Washington D.C. to Ghana].
Full package Round Trip Discounted Airfare - until
April 30, 2001 is US$1800.00. Delegates opting
for air travel only will pay $950.00 per
person + $60.95 tax . This discount offer
is valid on GH sector only: NYC/BWI-ACC-NYC/BWI.
After April 30, 2001, this rate will no longer be
available. Purchased tickets are valid for 45 days,
from date of departure. Each passenger is entitled
to two (2) pieces of luggage. Each piece must be
equal to or less than 32kg [70Ibs]. Any additional piece
of 32kg attracts an additional charge of: $110.00

Note: PANAFEST delegates may select from several
Pre- & Post event Tours which are scheduled on
July 20-August 10, 2001. Be sure to schedule
your stay in Ghana to take advantage of the tourist
events.
Reservations can be made via: Visa, MasterCard,
Cashiers Check or Money Order. Please be
prepared to provide GhaCLAD with your Departure
Date and Mailing Address. Your tickets will be
mailed to you.
Make allowances in your Travel Budget to pay
for local tours in Ghana, both BEFORE & AFTER
the PANAFEST event. Be sure to extend your
hotel & airline reservations, if you want to
stay in Ghana, before and/or after the conference
to participate in the scheduled tours.

passport holder). To apply for the visa, you
need a visa application form. There is also a fee
to be paid to get your visa processed. Kindly
