Most Disturbing Movies Of All Time and touching on the snuff film thread

First i would like to welcome myself back!! i haven't posted here for
like a year!
Anyways, I have seen something rather disturbing of late.
Not really a traditional movie but something we might all be aware of.
I cannot illustrate how disturbing this is but I'll give it a go...
About a month ago a friend of mine loaned me a copy of the NIN: Broken video
( Nine Inch Nails ). I hade heard some press on this when the video was
canned for it's subject matter and was always curious as to what could've
been so horrid that it wouldn't make it on Mtv ( remember that "Girls Girls
Girls" vid by Motley Crue?? ).
SPOILER (SORT-OF) Below. I will detail the movie.
Ok. It starts out clean enough. A car driving and scenery and then you see
the car window fade in to the "Broken" and "n" logo. A man is tied to a chair
all of a sudden. He is tied to a chair against his will and being forced to
watch NIN videos ( the ONLY way to watch them!!! ). A man runs out from the
back room and dumps gasoline over the guy in the chair. It goes in his mouth
and you hear him say " GGROFGCXLLDGJK!!!!HKL:JCGHACGKL:K!!!". Most
disturbing. He's twitching and moving around. Then you see the "Pinion" short
which is the opening to Mtv's "Alternative nation". then the "Happiness in
Slavery" vid. Older guy, 40ish is taking his clothes off and soon is strapped
in to a sort-of makeshift dentist chair.He is then tortured by 3 or 4 metal
claws which sear his flesh and he ends up getting run through this metal
mouth and spat out it's anus. Mr reznor is in this like waiting room, like
he's the next in line. Man, the guy's SO abused!
Anyways, this is where it really started bothering me. they started pulling a
tooth out of this guy's mouth and he was getting hit with a hammer if i
remember correctly. Basically what i would've labelled a "snuff" film.
Various torture to this guy. Some looked fake, some real. I can't remember
now what I saw that was so gross. there was a desicrated body in a freezer
and then they showed the guy hanging from a ceiling and getting beaten whilst
screaming through a gag. The snuff part of the film was done with a home vid
camera. The videos looked like 16mm film. they looked pretty fake but some of
the home vid stuff was terribley real. Needless to say i was VERY sick and i
actually went home from work the next day. I could not get these pictures out
of my mind. There was something else totally gross that I have mentally
blocked and i am GLAD for that!!!
As to why this vid was not released to the public domestically has been
questioned. This is also a warning to anyone in to NIN. You may want to think
twice before purchasing this. It was very misleading to me and I know how
many impressionable youths there are out there. I think this was meant to be
some sort of artistic staement. Like a Skinny Puppy show heard about while I
was watching this video where they staged a rape and like their intent was to
show people something they should be appaled by and a side of life they
normally didn't see. Hey man, I a already disgusted by rape so I wouldn't
need to watch that!! I don't think anyone planning on raping someone watched
them and was like "WOAH!! thanks Skinny Puppy!! I was going to rape a girl,
now that I see what it;s like I realise that was a bad idea". Not really ART
to me at all, but that's just my opinion. maybe i am wrong about why they
staged that though.
I am not someone who goffs at violence and sex but this, my friends, took
the whole fucking cake. candles, frosting and those little metal balls.

extreme. (Note:Happiness In Slavery WAS released as a video, I'm speaking of
the product as a whole.) This is from a man who says that he's "bored" with
the Happiness In Slavery video. Supposedly, he locked away the master copy in
his house. But we all know how the bootleg industry works.

Anyone who's "into NIN" enough to seek out this bootleg knows exactly what
they are in for, so I'm not sure what you found so misleading. I was recently
at a dance club that was showing this video on a large screen. I simply
averted my eyes. At least you had the option of turning it off if you found it
so offensive.

I suppose it was, but as I mentioned...NIN didn't approve of the artistic
statement. That video was produced independantly by Peter Christopherson- a
well respected (and brilliant, IMHO) artist. When Mr. Reznor viewed it for the
first time, he cancelled the project. It's true he did commission a violent
video, but it was supposed to be more along the lines of a typical horror
movie. Mr Christopherson simply did his job TOO well

Have you ever seen a Skinny Puppy show? It is a very powerful theatrical
event. While I have never heard of the rape incident, they have performed
staged vivisections onstage. Also, Nivek Ogre is often "shot" at the end of a
show. However, these displays have a lot more to say than an exploitative
horror film, or even a well respected one such as Silence Of The Lambs. There
certainly are plenty of disgusting, misoginistic bands out there (Cannibal
Corpse comes to mind.) But Skinny Puppy isn't one of them.
