Does anybody have or know where to get the original cuts of Hellraiser
Bloodline or Nightbreed? I know both of this films were butchered so I
wondered if any of the original cuts were floating around somewhere. If
you have any info on the original versions of these films please email
me.

Thanks

Hellraiser was not really butchered. The only think taken out was about
1-2 seconds of a man pleading for his life before he was killed with a
hammer.

Had to be more than that. Magazines like Fangoria had tons of photos from
scenes that never made it to the final product, for months before it came out.
Hell, even the trailer had clips that weren't in the film.

About nine months ago I got to meet Clive Barker (Briefly) at an
autograph session and asked him about the uncut Nightbreed. He told me
someone (I think it was Elite) were working on a special edition laserdisc
of it, with the missing footage and other extras. He didn't say when it
was going to be released and as I haven't been able to find a release date
for it yet.

But that was "Hellraiser", not "Hellraiser: Bloodline", the third sequel -
which is pretty damn awful in its present state. We're not likely to see a
restored version any time soon - the director took his name off the film and
Dimension didn't the editing much thought afterward.

As for "Nightbreed", Barker has said he'd like to restore his original cut,
which ran about 25 minutes longer - but that he's been unable to crack the
legal tangles. Maybe the folks at Elite Entertainment (see alt.video.laserdisc)
will be able to help.

Would the cuts include the psudo-necrophelia from the book?

The director of Bloodlines said himself that he dis-owned the movie
because it was dramaticly shortened.
