"Janet" necklace

Hi!
I want to get a "Janet" necklace but don't know where to go. Did you
Janets out there get yours at regular stores (which hopefully have
branches up here in Canada) or did you have them made? Thanks.

My friend Ginny got me an adorable, while not entirely accurate one, for 50
cents. Unfortunately, the movers stole it. (go figure) The point is, I'm
looking for one too!

gold one for $99.99 - easiest to find by using their 'search' feature for
'name necklace'.

For a while it was easy to find the alternative trash jewelry that spelled
"slut" (and other things) that were really funny. I can't find them online
though.

Yeah i noticed the link to that at your website; i just can't afford
$100, especially in US funds. I was thinking more int eh $20 CDN (50
cents US) range.

Yeah, I think Ginny got very luckt that time. It was a cheap piece of crap
that broke about 5 times, but it worked :O). She got it at a carnival for a
local elementary school. If I find one again, I'll get it for you, if you
like!

There's sometimes cheaper ones of somewhat comparable quality on ebay-- for
example, there's a gold one up now for the opening bid of $55:

Penney's used to carry them in the late 80s if I remember right (and Sears
once long ago had them in their now-defunct catalog) and sometimes they still
pop up in mall jewelry carts in the MUCH cheaper base metal version...

Hot Topic (http://www.hottopic.com) had silver-toned "corrupt" (and perhaps a
few other spellings, but they didn't AFAIK carry "slut") ones a few months ago
in the correct style-- I bought one online and it was less than 8 dollars...
they might still have them online or in stores

There are at least a few ebay sellers (if you search under something like:
gold name necklace) that make the twisted gold wire versions. They are made
from gold filled wire twisted into a name of your choice and are not
absolutely screen-correct, but they can be had for under $13 or so. I have
had both "Janet" and "slut" made in the past by different merchants and I'm
happy enough with them for now for my general janet use (I don't really ever
actually play janet, though I do dress like her on occasion). I probably even
still have the email address of the one guy willing to do the more 'depraved'
spellings like "slut"-- many jewelry makers only will make G-rated type
necklaces for some reason.

I've also heard and remember that some malls and amusement parks even have
carts where they will twist the name of your choice into a necklace... it
might be worth a try if the more accurate expensive ones are too expensive and
if a janet is in a pinch

The necklaces are $14.95 in his online catalog but he offers (or offered in the
past) the same necklace at a starting bid at least a few dollars cheaper on
ebay-- as you can see, the twisted wire name necklaces aren't anywhere near as
spiff or accurate as the cast/die-cut kind but they are quite inexpensive
compared to the real thing...

I found an almost perfect Janet necklace at a gift shop at a mall in one of the
suburbs here. It cost me $12. If anyone is interested, e-mail me and I'll
make a trip out to the mall to see if the store is still there, and if I can
still order the necklaces.

Maybe you could get a wire name necklace (or make one yourself?) and then
lay it on some railroad tracks to flatten it! :)

this is warped, but i find it amusing...

we have a janet with a necklace which says "Jesus". it _looks_ right from a
few feet away, so nobody notices, and those can probably be found in any price
range...

I picked up a cool one for our cast's Janet while I was in Israel this
January, I spent like $30US on it, but it was too cool of a gift idea to
pass up: It said Janet, but spelled out using Hebrew letters. Not exactly
screen accurate, but a cool idea none the less....

I've been tempted in the past to order an EGYPTIAN HIEROGLYPHIC one (the New
Yorker always has those little ads for them) that spelled janet in the
ancient egyptian symbols but have always perhaps wisely decided against
doing so because that just too damn obscure even for me...
