Dear folks,

Two years ago someone named Jubilee posted the following article of
Clue/RHPS parallels. I ran across it again while cleaning out my files
and think it is a fun little article; Cosmo has said he'd be interested
in including it on the Factory. The email address bounces.

Does anyone know who wrote this?

"Clue" came on today, so of course I watched it to get my daily dose of
Tim "A God" Curry :) Anyway, I noticed many similarities between Clue
and Rocky. So....here's a few:
1) In both movies there is a butler and a maid (a little vague, but
worth mentioning since Tim played the butler)

2) In both movies a motorist (or two) has car trouble and goes to the
nearest place to use the phone.

3) When on the phone(Clue), the motorist tells whoever he's talking to
that there is a strange bunch of people there having a party of some
sort. In Rocky there's a strange bunch of people there having a party
of some sort.

4) Mr. Green from Clue is sporting some fashionable eye-wear like
Brad's. He also "whips them off angrily" on occasion as Brad is known
to have done.

5) There is an air of AP in both films. It's obvious in Rocky, but in
Clue, I believe it's, Tim (who) says "to make a long story short" and
the rest of the cast replys with a saucy "TOO LATE".

6) In Rocky, the tune of "Happy Birthday" to Rocky was cut off in mid
sentence. As in Clue, the tune of "For She's a Jolly Good Fellow" to
Mrs. Peacock was as well cut off.

7) Both movies took place in a big mansion/castle place.

8) And lastly, at the end of both movies Tim got shot :(

So....there ya go.....feel free to respond :)

Oooo, this could be fun. In Shine, David plays the piano. In RHPS a
piano is played in some of the songs.

Can anyone think of any other ones?

Well, I dunno about connections to movies, but here're the connections of
the actors. No one was actually in a movie with Kevin, but they all
happen to be 2's, except Peter and Perry, who they just linked through
tim. These are all according to the Oracle of Bacon at Virginia.

Tim -> Christian Slater (Fern Gully) -> Kevin Bacon (Murder in the 1st)
Barry -> Robert DeNiro (Jennifer on my Mind) ->Kevin Bacon (Sleepers)
Susan -> Tom Hanks (The Celluloid Closet) -> Kevin Bacon (Apollo 13)
Ritz -> Kiefer Sutherland (Dark City) -> Bacon (Flatliners)
Pat -> John Cleese (meaning of Life) -> Bacon (The Big Picture)
Nell -> John Malkovich (Killing Fields) -> Bacon (Queen's Logic)
Meatloaf -> Stve Martin (Leap of Faith) -> Bacon (Planes Trains and
Automobiles)
Chucky -> Duane Grey (Unknown Terror) -> Bacon (JFK)
Jeremy -> John Ratzenberger (Yanks) -> Bacon (She's Leaving...)

Remember there's also
Ritz -> Rik Mayall (ST) -> Bridget Fonda (Drop Dead Fred) -> Bacon (Balto)
For anyone you can't get.

There's also a Susan connection through Kevin Costner, but I forget what
it is.

SO RHPS really is connected to every movie... :)

Y'now in Star Wars and in Rocky, there were red lasers, and gold costumes.
And women in lingerie atached to fat sweaty people.
Okay, I'm just being snide now.

Marvin's Room is a RIP OFF of RHPS!!!
Consider:
In both films there is/are-
a Doctor of some sort
Actors
a Writer
the subject of Insanity
Death
Cars
Corruption
Parts cut out from the original play
and...
Two young fiancees who want to visit their old high school teacher but end
up in a castle where a sexual freak turns them into creatures of lust
before being killed by his servants who reveal that they are all aliens.

Well, Marvin's Room has something like that. Y'know when Meryl Streep
spills all those pills on the floor and Diane Keaton has to pick them up.
That's what I'm referring to.

OK, so it's a stretch. Everyone should still boycot all movies until they
pay Richard O'Brien for inventing the motion picture.

Its funny that the most cynical people in this newsgroups also all happen
to be from INFELGRANTE DELICTO. Kinda strange... actually, kinda fitting.

Okay, I saw Chasing Amy, and I ahd to put in the paralells. It was just
way too similar to pass up. Both movies has this character who wanted to
have sex with someone else. Both movies have people wearing black. Its
so fucking wierd. Its like they took Rocky and just changed the name. I
just can't beleive Kevin Smith would stoop so low. The sheer gaul. Wow.
I hope none of you are taking me seriously. We all know Rocky is just
Citizen Kane with garter belts. Theres no denying it, so don't try.

Actually, my local cast director (who has been involved with Rocky for ages)
mentioned that she used to go to Rocky Horror as a Garbage Girl sometimes.
