Okay, so while watching TV the past few nights, i have seen a few commercials,
and short segments on various entertainment "news" shows about the new movie
'Fight Club' in which meatloaf appears. and in every shot of mr.loaf they show,
he appears to have boobs. not like wee man breasts some big guys get, but
honest to goodness casabas that put mine to shame. and he doesnt have these in
any of the interviews he's done recently, soit isnt just an unusual weight
gain.
now my question is; does anybody know what the deal is? like any info about his
character or explanaition?
because they better have a damn good reason. that clip of him crying and
hugging edward norton, and poor ed being suffocated by meat's monstorous bosom
is going to give me nightmares for weeks.
*shudder*

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do recall reading an interview in TV Guide a few
months back regarding Meat Loaf's gargantuan tits. In "Fight Club," he plays a
man with large breasts, more commonly known as "bitch tits (I swear to God I
didn't make that up)." "Bitch tits" are usually a side effect of the usage of
steroids. However, whether or not that is the case with Meat's character, I
couldn't tell you. But don't worry, it was just a body suit Meat was wearing.
I vaguely remember him saying in the interview how damned uncomfortable and hot
the suit was. Hope this helps answer your question.

In article <19991013044506...@ng-fl1.aol.com>,

from interviews and stories that i've read about the film, Meatloaf's
character is a bodybuilder who is suffering from testicular cancer and
taking hormones to fight the effects. whether or not it's an effect of
the steroids or the hormones, his character has grown larger breasts, ie
"bitch tits". and, on The Martin Short Show, he said that the bodysuit
went from his waist to his shoulders and weighed about 30 pounds.

Interview in Movieline Magazine says Meat Loaf's character in Fight Club is
supposed to be an ex-champion power lifter who did a lot of steroids.

Yes. The net effect was this: he caught testicular cancer, had his
testicles removed, started testosterone treatment which caused the
body to produce excess estrogen which caused him to grow breasts.

P.S. The Robert Paulsen character, that is, NOT Meat Loaf!

This is Mr. Science signing off.-de Sade

He *caught* cancer, eh? I hear you can get that from drinking out of the same
cup these days. ;)

And I'm suprised they didn't put him (the character) on some sort of
anti-estrogen therapy. I know they make a lot of them from biological females,
for various reasons...and one stops the production of it all together basically
by telling the brain not to make it anymore (that's my understanding anyway,
which I heard from someone who was looking into anti-estrogen therapy...zie
wasn't 100% sure on that, though) and is, AFAIK, safe for both biomales and
biofemales to take. But it's a movie, so i guess they didn't have to explore
that. Maybe they just wanted him to have man-tits. (The breasts are also
unusually large, even for an overweight man to have just from having his body
produce the amount of estrogen that's produced by testosterone therapy...even
male-to-female transgendered folk, on female hormone therapy, usually can't get
anywhere near that much growth. However, this is based on seeing the split
second shot of the tits that's in one of the previews...I haven't seen the
movie yet. Again, oh well.) I'll stop rambling about hormones now. Heh.

The above explanations for Robert Paulsons "bitch tits" are quite correct, so I
wont add anything along that line. I will, however, plug fight club:

What a fukkin' great movie, everyone. It is a HELL of a lot more than just a
bunch of guys fighting. The camera work, writing, and acting or quite
brilliant.
Oh, and Meatloaf once again finds himself dead in a dining room, this time
ON a table insted of under it.
Go see Fight Club.

Hey, Jared, my apartment just blew up and I need a place to stay. How about
you and me go to a bar and have a few drinks and talk about it?
Does this make you Tyler or Jack?

( we can shoot golf balls, drink beer, fuck Marla, beat the shit out of each
other, and stay up late and make soap. Whattaya say?)

GO SEE FIGHT CLUB! (Meatloaf has an interesting supporting character.)

It's just come out over here today - might go and see it, might not -
could be worth it just for Meat, but I'm not sure yet!

Rusty-
It's worth it for more than JUST seeing Meat Loaf Aday in it. The whole movie
is excellent. They catch you from the very start and don't let go until the
credits.

that sounds like a plan, bill. i think that would make me tyler, but it might
make you tyler also. :)
all i know is it was a damn good movie. and the girl i took with me suggested
we sneak beer in with us, so it was extra cool.

Okay Jared, you can be Tyler 4 days out of the week, I get to be him 3. Just
do me a favor and make sure that we only eat "clean" food, and I will have
plenty of vinnegar ready for when we burn our hands.
Then me and you and a "Marla" can all three go to a movie and sneak in beer.
Up for it, bro?
