I heard from a friend that there was a sequal to the Rocky Horror
Picture Show, and just wanted to get this verified...

Yes, there is a sequel to RHPS, and it is called shock treatment. Richard
O'Brian wrote this one too, but it was never on stage as far as I know, unlike
RHPS.
Brad, Janet, Betty Munroe, and Ralph Hapschett are all original characters that
appear in the sequel, but they are played by different actors, except for
ralph.
Original actors and actresses that are in this movie, but most play different
parts are...
Richard O'Brian, Pat Quinn, Nell, Charles Gray, the guy who played ralph
hapschett, and Imogen Claire (a transylvainian)
(am I forgetting anyone?)
The plot is very different than RHPS, and it is a different movie altogether,
but that is just my opinion.
Also...
There are rumors that there is a sequel in the making called Revenge of the Old
Queen, but I don't know much about that, Anyone care to take it from here???

I have been reading this ng for over 2 yrs now...and more recently then ever
the amoutn of people who are giving incorrect information is ever-so
increasing....but the thing that is getting me most pissed is the BUTCHERING of
the name O'BRIEN!
if you do not know who created Rocky Horror, the proper spelling of his name or
ANYTHING posed on this newsgroup, then KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT...
if this is too hard to comprehend.....understand this....their are a lot of
people on this newsgroup who have extensive knowledge on all things Rocky
Horror (Larry, Ruth, Mark, Ron, Fred, Brady, Quad,Bill, MMMike et al), but even
they will not answer a question if they don't know the answer...so neither
should anyone else having doubts on answering a simple question. do we need to
post the FAQ (frequently asked questions) daily?...maybe not but here it is for
today...

*Some* people think that Shock Treatment is a sequel to RHPS. This is not
necessarily true....it's very debatable whether ST is a sequel or an equal to
Rocky, but most very knowledgable people will say it's an equal...as will I.
The sequel to RHPS is Revenge of the Old Queen which was never produced and
probably never will be considering Mr. O'BriEn (the writer of ROTOQ) doesn't
want to make it...but you can read the script...somwhere, I dunno, I don't have
the link....someone else can post it. Maybe you should do something called
reading the FAQ, like NiceGuyAJ said.

I hate to get into this debate again, but.....even Ritz doesn't call ST a
sequel (he calls it an equal). The 'sequel' has not and, most likely, never
will be made, it's called "Revenge of the Old Queen"

Oh God, the "Is Shock Treatment Considered A Sequel?" question again.
Officially -- No. Richard, Sal and Fox I understand will all call it a
"follow-up" rather than a sequel to Rocky Horror. (I know for sure Sal does.)
My Opinion -- It follows 2 of the 3 same lead characters, is set about the
same place (a castle outside of Denton vs. Denton), with many of the same
actors (albeit playing mostly different parts -- whether Charles Gray is
reprising a character or playing a new one is up for debate) and like RHPS is
also a musical satire. And it (in my opinion) was inferior to Rocky Horror
(though the plot idea is actually SUPERIOR!)

Shock Treatment is a sequel to Rocky (in my opinion, again.)
What Fox and the fan club had been hyping as the OFFICIAL sequel in 1990,
called REVENGE OF THE OLD QUEEN has been put in turnaround indefinitely and
there are NO plans to film it in the immediate future, though if it's going to
happen I would bet on the 1999-2000 time frame for work to start and finish on
it. Yes, there's a script on the web but I have conveniently forgotten where
it is, though I am sure someone will post a followup.
