ROCKY HORROR FREAK CODE -- Version 1.1
By Arthur Levesque -- b...@boog.org -- http://boog.org
Inspired by the Geek Code and its many offspring
Suggestions from:
Mistress Frank (mmef...@ix.netcom.com)
Jeff Young (rave...@ptd.net)
Byron Brummer (ze...@archive.rhps.org)
Ruth Fink-Winter (wbar...@wwa.com)
Alicia Wallace (iluvgib...@hotmail.com)

Including this code in your .sig, .plan, homepage, or tattoo
on your butt is a good way of communicating with other Rocky Horror
freaks exactly what kind of freak you are, and vice versa. Find
out how many times they've seen the show, what parts they play, if
they've ever seen the infamous censored Brad/Riff buttfuck scene,
and so on... The RHF code consists of several sections, each with
a letter and various qualifiers. By stringing all of them together,
with a space separating the sections (see examples) you can make your
overall RHF code which is all other RHF's need to find out what kind
of freak you are...

Rocky Horror Freak Code Version

The first element of the code is "RHFC" followed by the version
number. In this case, it would be RHFC1.1

Variables

For those things which are approximate, changing, imprecise, or
just no one else's damned business, there are a variety of
variables that can be used in each section. These are mostly the
standard variables used in the Geek, Goth, Animaniacs!, and other
net Codes...

@ This indicates that the said trait is not very rigid and may
change with time or with individual interaction; used directly
after a number, it indicates that the number is an
approximation. "V500@" indicates that the freak has seen
Rocky Horror about 500 times.

() Indicates a value that has changed, or a total value. For
instance, P&2(4) indicates that the person is currently a
member of two casts, but has belonged to a total of four.

+- Pluses and minuses are used frequently to mark things that you
like or don't like (such as playing certain parts) or things
which are frequent or infrequent (like surfing RHPS web sites).

> This character indicates 'wannabe' ratings; for instance, IW>&
means that you want to have your own Rocky web page, or P>B
means that you want to play Brad.

? The character, placed after the code it modifies, indicates a
lack of knowledge about the topic. For instance, "VS?"
indicates someone who has never seen "Shock Treatment".

! This character, placed BEFORE the code it modifies, indicates a
refusal to participate in this category. This is different from
the "?" variable, as "VS?" indicates someone who has never seen
"Shock Treatment" but "V!S" indicates someone who REFUSES to
watch "Shock Treatment".

{} Braces are used to contain specific multi-character descriptions
or abbreviations; for instance DO{GS} means that you typically
order the "Grand Slam" from Denny's.

$ Indicates that you do something professionally... A prostitute
would have "S$" in their code.

Viewings

# - Number of times viewed. If there is no number (or other
variable) provided, then "V" is assumed to stand for Virgin.
Use "@" with a number for an approximation, or use the
exclamation point if you don't know or care and think that
people who do keep track should get a life
M# - Masturbator (seen it on Video/TV) -- most people really
don't care how many times you've seen it on the small
screen except for other virgins). Use the exclamation
point here if you want to indicate that you refuse to
watch hacked-up RHPS broadcasts.
P# - Number of times you've seen the "Rocky Horror Show"
stage production.
S# - Number of times seeing Shock Treatment in the theater. If
you've only seen it on video, just put an S with no number.
An exclamation point before the "S" indicates that you
refuse to watch it (at all, or ever again); a question
mark after the "S" merely indicates that you haven't seen
it YET.
R - If you've read "Revenge of the Old Queen" (put an
exclamation point in front of the "R" if you have
not only specifically declined to read ROTOQ but think
that no one else should either)
B - If you've seen the infamous Brad/Riff Buttfuck Scene...
Y# - Indicates either how many years (a one or two digit number)
you've been watching Rocky, or what calendar year (four
digits) you first saw it. IOW, Y12 would indicate that I've
been watching Rocky for twelve years; Y1986 would indicate
that I first saw it in 1986.
L# - Number of different locations (theaters, college auditoria,
etc.) where you've seen RHPS. Optionally, in braces, you can
include the number of states (preceded by a lower-case "s")
or countries (preceded by a lower-case "c") where you've
seen Rocky...

My viewing section would be V500@!MP4S6RY1986L25@{s11}

Performances

# - Number of times performed. You can specify a total number
(modifiers apply) or break it out into how many times you've
played individual characters (it's not necessary to provide
the number of times each character has been played AND a
total). The letter codes below can be used without numbers
merely to list which characters you do or don't play.
B# - Brad
J# - Janet
R# - RiffRaff
M# - Magenta
C# - Columbia
F# - Frank
H# - Rocky Horror
E# - Eddie
D# - Dr. Scott
W# - Criminologist (the "W" is for "Where's your fucking neck?")
T# - Transylvanian
O# - Other performer (Trixie, Richard Nixon, whatever)
X# - Tech, lights, props, whatever
* - Indicates that you play all parts
S# - Shock Treatment parts played
P# - Pre-show performances
+ - put this directly after the letter(s) of your favorite parts
- - put directly after the letter(s) of your least favorite parts
Y# - Indicates either how many years (a one or two digit number)
you've been performing, or what calendar year (four digits)
you first performed. IOW, Y7 would indicate that I've
been performing for seven years; Y1991 would indicate that
I first performed in 1991.
L# - Number of different locations (theaters, college auditoria,
etc.) where you have performed. Optionally, in braces, you
can include the number of states (preceded by a lower-case
"s") or countries (preceded by a lower-case "c") where
you've performed...
&# - indicates that you are currently a member of a cast (or
casts); two ampersands in a row mean that your cast is even
lucky enough to have a theater. A number can be used to
show the number of casts one is currently a member of, a
number (in parentheses) the total number of casts one has
been a member of, a number preceded by an exclamation point
would be the number of casts one has been kicked out of or
cannot perform with.

I guess I'd be P*B+@R+@W-SPL16{s8}Y1991&1(4) right now (I've
played every character, but I don't keep count so I couldn't give
you a number for any of them... And my favorite characters to
play are currently Brad and Riff, but that changes over time). The
sixteen locations is an off the top of my head guess; I'm sure
I'm forgetting some.

Conventions

# - Number of conventions attended. The letter codes below
indicate actual characters performed at a convention.
B# - Brad
J# - Janet
R# - RiffRaff
M# - Magenta
C# - Columbia
F# - Frank
H# - Rocky Horror
E# - Eddie
D# - Dr. Scott
W# - Criminologist (the "W" is for "Where's your fucking neck?")
T# - Transylvanian
O# - Other (Trixie, Richard Nixon, whatever)
* - Indicates that you've played a variety of parts
S# - Shock Treatment parts played
P# - Pre-show performances
& - Indicates that you/your cast have organized conventions.

Offhand, I guess I'd be C10@*SP right now...

Internet

F# - FTP sites or file archives. An ampersand indicates that
you have an archive (WWW or FTP); the truly geeky can
provide a number of hits (use the various qualifiers as
necessary). Add a plus sign if you spend a lot of time
surfing RHPS sites, or a hyphen if you very rarely do so.
W# - World Wide Web. All modifiers from "F" above apply.
Two ampersands in a row indicate that your site is part
of the Rocky Horror Web Ring.
N - The Rocky Horror newsgroup (alt.cult-movies.rocky-horror).
A plus sign indicates that you are very active; a minus
sign indicates that you mainly lurk.
C - Chat. All modifiers from "N" above apply.
M# - Number of Rocky Horror-related mailing lists you're
subscribed to.

My code here would be IW&&F&&-N+!CM0(1) ...I have a web site
with a number of files (binary and text) available for download;
I don't spend much time at FTP sites, I'm active on the
newsgroup, and I don't do IRC.

Memorabilia

A# - How many autographs do you own? (You may list them,
preferably by initials, within a set of {braces}.
M# - How many of the performers have you met? (as "A" above)
C# - How many characters do you have a full costume for?
B# - How many Rocky Horror related books (including the
comic books) do you have? (Feel free to use the
plus sign to indicate "a lot" for any of these.)
R# - How many RHPS/RHS/ST recordings (vinyl, cassette, CD)
do you have?
V# - How many different Rocky Horror (and Shock Treatment)
videotapes/laserdiscs do you have?
O# - Other: trading cards, bumper stickers, fanzines, posters,
buttons (here's where a minus for "a few" and a plus for
"a lot" really come in handy).

Put me down for MB-R+V-O-A3{SS,BB,LN}M4 (I don't know offhand
about the costumes; most of my stuff is on loan to and in the
possession of my cast)

Denny's

# - Number of different Denny's (or IHOP, whatever) restaurants
you've been to after Rocky Horror... A plus sign indicates
that you go to Denny's after almost every show, a minus
indicates that you seldom partake.
K# - Total number of unique Denny's to have been kicked out of.
S# - Total sets of silverware you've stolen
C# - Typical cups of coffee/coke/etc.
O - Typical order ({GS} would be Grand Slam, for instance)
T# - Time you normally leave

Quad

? - The "Q" indicator by itself signifies that you know
Quad; so following it with a question mark "Q?" means
that you haven't met her... "Q&" indicates that you
ARE Quad...
NA - Indicates that you think Quad has a Nice Ass. A minus
sign means that it's OK, nothing too special; and a plus
sign means that you think it's a VERY nice ass. An
ampersand indicates that you have actually touched her
ass ("QNA>&" means that you WANT to touch it, "QNA!&"
means that you DON'T want to touch it).
K - Indicates that she kissed you without prompting (e.g.
at the NYC Con). Only a cad would list how many times
he's kissed her! :)
P# - Indicates that you have photos of Quad. Use braces to
include descriptions: QP5{panties} means that you have
five pictures of her famous white panties, QP{R} means
that you have one (or more) R-rated Quad pics, etc.
W# - Indicates how many times Quad has opened a can of Whoop
Ass on you. A plus sign can be used in place of a number
to indicate "a lot". An ampersand means that you enjoyed
it...
R - Indicates that you are a member of the Royal Order of
Quad (optional: include title in braces).
H# - Shows how many of Quad's parties you've been to. A
plus sign indicates that you had great time(s), a minus
sign indicates that you don't remember everything that
happened.

You (all of these are highly optional; but if you do answer them,
you should try to be honest).

A# - Your age. Use a plus sign if people feel you look older,
a minus sign if people think you look younger, or an equals
sign if you look exactly your age. For instance, "YA16=>21"
means that you are sixteen and look it, but wish you were
21. "Y!A" means that you refuse to divulge your age (and
"!Y" by itself means that you refuse to divulge ANY personal
information
B# - Body art. Use lower-case letters to indicate piercings,
tattoos, and scarring... For instance, YBp2t2- indicates
two piercings, two tattoos (locations/descriptions can
be provided in braces as desired). A plus sign indicates
that a large part of your body is tattooed/pierced, a
minus sign indicates that your tattoos/piercings are not
visible in normal street clothes (my tattoos aren't, but
one of my piercings {ear} is).
G - Gender. Include within braces a lower-case "m" for male,
"f" for female, "h" for hermaphrodite, and so on. Y!G
means that you refuse to disclose your gender, YG{m>f}
is a male who wants to be female...
H - Height. Include a measurement in braces, such as YH{5'10"},
or use a plus or minus sign to indicate that you are
tall/short for your age/gender (an equals sign means you're
average).
L - Your location. Include in braces your city, state, country,
whatever. There's a listing of country domain codes at
http://nic.merit.edu/nsfnet/statistics/nets.by.country if
that means anything to you...
S - Sexual Preferences. "S?" indicates a virgin, or include
any of a number of lower-case letters in braces:
m f - indicates a preference for males or females (we're
not using "gay" or "straight"; because this system
will allow you to specify which gender you prefer
without specifying your own). Bisexuals can use
a lower-case "b"; or, if they lean more one way
than another, can use both "m" and "f" in whichever
order is appropriate. "b?" means "unsure", "m>b"
indicates someone who prefers males but is
"bi-curious".
a# - preferred age of sexual parters
k - you like it kinky ("!k" means you don't like any of
that "freaky stuff" -- missionary position was good
enough for your parents and it's good enough for you!)
W - Weight. Include a measurement in braces, or use a plus or
minus sign to indicate that you are thick/thin for your
age/gender (an equals sign means you're average). YW+>=
means that you're overweight but would like to be average.

String them all together to get your Rocky Horror Freak Code.

Same question..What about M.Cs? Also perhaps an A($$$) if you blew a
crapload of money in Sal's auctions....C () if you were ridiculous
enough to enter the Chinese Auction(Like me) or F if you are getting
mildly annoyed by Fred constantly winning the raffle<G>. Also perhaps
adding a B if you follow the hallowed tradition of putting your bible
outside the door. =)

There needs to be a T-shirt listing here.

What if you have just been threatened with a proverbial"Can 'o'
Whoop-Ass" by Quad? Or if you mentioned to her that she should sue WWF
World Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin for stealing the catchphrase
from her?

The titles are rather long, see mine below.

Hello, I 've tried to figure out my code, but it is getting too long, too fast
and it won't fit in my signature and I can't figure it put any more, i feel
like i am doing complex math equations or something.

If you really want to know about me and my rocky horror experience, just ask!
I'll probably tell you!

A# - Indicates how much money you've blown on Sal's auctions

you only refuse to participate in Chinese auctions).

Rev>What about C(0) if you have a IRC channel that nobody visits? =)

C# - Chat. All modifiers from above apply. A number can be

you generally have on a channel you own.

# - Number of times performed. You can specify a total number
(modifiers apply) or break it out into how many times you've
played individual characters (it's not necessary to provide
the number of times each character has been played AND a

LC& if they're yelled about you

J if you're too young to have people looking at your cleavage (on public

After looking at this sad excuse for line noise, I think a _decoder_
would be much more useful than an encoder. Maybe I'll whack one out
in perl and throw it up as a CGI for shits and giggles, if anyone's
interested.

I mean, really - if it's hard enough to read, it should be hard enough
to create - why do we need an _en_coder? Or am I all alone on this one?

Don't feel bad. I was doing that too, also keeping count on how long he
would keep a smile on his face when he was pissed off. Stone Cold rules!

Ditto. The main reason I'm doing the encoder first is simply
because a decoder would be about 3 times the work (special case
code for days....). On the good side though, a decoder wouldn't
need the 1000+ lines of HTML that th encoder is needing... If
anyone is interested in my progress on said HTML crap, what's done
of the form can be found at:

http://www.archive.rhps.org/freakcode.html

After I finish it I'll probably cut it up into multiple pages
that one would step through like an "Wizard" kind of thang.

: I mean, really - if it's hard enough to read, it should be hard enough

Close. I think the original saying from the programming world
however is, "If it was hard to write, dammit it should be hard to
read!". :-)
