Squirrel goes to the Willow and gives it a good sweep out of several years of accumulated dust and slightly musty leaves, then gathers some freshly plumped leaves with that beloved dry crackly sound. The stash of nuts is aired and turned, and some new ones are added to the pile. Outside the Willow, Squirrel erects some insulated wooden boxes with panes of glass over. The glass is sloped slightly so rainwater will tip into a little gutter to a pipe which feeds into an under soil terracotta holding store. Squirrel hopes that these will slowly release water to the little degradable pots held in the pumice mix filling the boxes. In these are Squirrel's prized acorn seedlings. Squirrel has been a little concerned about the tree population in Cuddleland, and is sure that if it hadn't been declining that at least it should increase. There are a number of other seedlings and cuttings as well Squirrel is trying to cultivate, and the beginnings of a rock garden. Squirrel runs off to find some more rocks.....

Squirrel returns looking pleased, and lugging some large (well medium to small) rocks on a trolley. Soon Squirrel is arranging them, and adding some gravel between the gaps. Soon it is clear more rocks are needed, ... and plants. Squirrel bustles off with the trolley to get some more, but not before greeting a large bird that is resting among the roots of the Willow. It is a Kakapo and is called Rangiriri despite being a ground bird. It is the new Guardian of the Willow as the spider left long ago, citing lack of traffic for the move. Rangiriri climbs the Willow and watches Squirrel depart. Squirrels are stupid it thinks, and settles back for a comfortable nap

Squirrel has joined the Kakapo guardian for a nap in the fork of the Willow branches. It feels good to have a nap in a quiet place. The other places in the bigger world Squirrel has been to have been rather stressful. In the quiet of the meadow by the brook Squirrel can regather the energies absorbed by the big world. It does not feel the bigger world is going to a good place, and Squirrel is feeling quite some despair, especially in regard to the environment; protecting the forest, and the untouched nature of the waters. It is so easy to spoil things. Squirrel does not believe we escape this world. What heaven or hell there is is created by us in this world for anything we leave of ourselves to face it. If we make a toxic world that is what we reap. Squirrel would rather a peaceful green world, where green things quietly outcompete each other, as the rain drops and river waters seep to their roots. Squirrel drifts off to sleep

The pile of rocks is growing into a small mountain, with a small avalanche of gravel. There is still only one plant in the rock garden, but the rock garden is almost ready for its plants. Squirrel takes another nap while the Kakapo looks on. The Kakapo wanders off while Squirrel is asleep and returns with some seed in its beak which it prods into the rock garden. These will go nice it thinks. The Kakapo surveys the rock garden with pride

Squirrel comes back with some more stones, some plants and a few bags of groceries. As Squirrel distributes the stones in the garden it begins to drizzle. The Willow is quiet but there is a bit of light emitting from it. Squirrel goes inside to find that the Kakapo is watching the Telly. The programme seems to feature a bunch of people going to a martial art tournament, with a serious looking dude in black among them. Squirrel watches for a moment... then goes to the kitchen in an ad break to find a pizza box which is disappointingly empty, and a half cup of cold black coffee. Squirrel puts the kettle on, and pours the cold coffee into a glass with gladwrap and puts it in the fridge. Squirrel thinks it will make a nice marinade later when Squirrel can be bothered to cook. Munching on some nuts and some cheese Squirrel returns with a warm milky coffee to the Living area and finds the Kakapo has fallen asleep. Settling back on the couch Squirrel thinks this is the life. A nice quiet time at home with coffee.... the tournament is starting to look serious... Squirrel switches the telly to an hour back and watches the programme again from almost the beginning. Missing the title of the show, but knowing as Squirrel has seen this before that it is a Bruce Lee film. Meanwhile the new plants are enjoying the steady rain outside. The groceries not so much..

The garden is very wet. It is quite boggy in places and Squirrel sinks a bit with every step. Squirrel rushes off to buy some bog plants. The Kakapo sighs and has another biscuit. It hopes Squirrel buys some more biscuits as the Kakapo notices that that was the last one in the biscuit tin, the unopened packet being suspiciously soggy..
