... Oh no, not another learning experience!
2: Yellow -- Happiness, friendship, peace... The sun is always painted
in pictures as yellow, smiley faces are always yellow and many peace
roses are symbolized in yellow. it's a bright color and it wakes up the
senses.
3: Blue -- serene, loyal, wise. The loyalty of the sky, the one thing
that I can count on beneath the clouds is that there will be a blue sky
to peek through.
4: Orange -- this reminds me of my high school colors. I'm not fond of
orange at all... though it does remind me of the tropics.
5: Green -- the lush grasses, rich forests
6: Purple -- royalty, healing, wisdom from life, the willingness to
teach and learn...
7: Yellow-green/Lime -green, Sap-green, Chrome green -- hospital,
hospice, terminal illness, disease, nursing home, death, corpse... the
color of a person's skin post-mortem is an ashen yellow/ jaundice color
that looks kinda sickly and very obviously dead. it's a very sad sight
and very permanent. I've held many hands as the cycle of physical life
ended and the last breath was drawn and released. the smell of
antiseptic wash being of a murky brownish-green and the name tags being
that of an odd neon yellow...
8: Turquoise, Teal-blue -- the reflection of the sky in the tropical
ocean, a turquoise Native American amulet, a sandpainting in the desert
southwest... the sound of the beating drum...
9: Brown -- Mesa rock, sandstone, yucca, pinecones, jackrabbits and
cottontails.... walks along the sand dunes....
10: Black -- The eyes of the rattle snake, the speckles of the granite,
black horses, black feathers, crows, onyx, funerals, weddings
11: White -- clouds, cotton candy, weddings, snow
12: Grey -- kittens, rain
13: Pink, Melon-pink, Fuschia-Pink, Magenta--carnations, roses, wild
flowers,
14: Wine, Burgundy -- hotrods, races, Victorian elegance, classical
concerts...

The colors repersent numbers for coding resistors and other electroni
items. the order is: 0-Black, 1-Brown, 2-Red, 3-Orange, 4-Yellow,
5-Green, 6-Blue, 7-Violet, 8-Gray, and 9-White.
Red is a warm color that in theater is used to show the morally less than
perfect woman whether as in a Streetcar named Desire play or in tv shows. I
enjoy red personally but I have been told that it is not in good taste by
those who prefer blues and greens. In a seasonal use it is warm and festive
but in a sport it usually means danger or cruelty in bull fighting. It does
not have a single association but many of them.
> 2: Yellow
Yellow can mean caution or an Easter celebration or a shirt dyed by onions
or a bright bold color. It depends on how white or black it is.
> 3: Blue
A light blue reminds me of the sky, a dark blue is patriotic as one of the
colors of the flag, a shiny blue reminds me of Christmas ornaments, a
textile blue can either be a blue dress shirt or a work shirt.
> 4: Orange
Orange is a caution light but another color orange is a citrus fruit. Burnt
orange is the University Of Texas team colors but the sun can be painted
orange rather than yellow and take on a whole new shade of tone in a
picture.
> 5: Green
Leprecaun Green is for the wee people and good luck or happiness, gardens
are built around shades and textures of green. Unripe fruit is green and
showing the degree of ripeness of food in a painting can change the tone of
the painting.
> 6: Purple
Purple can be a sign of grapes but in a rich tone it can signify royal robes
because the dye was made from sea creatures and so many were required that
the dye was very expensive and thus reserved for royalty and religion.
Christiananity uses purple a lot in stoles and covers and drapes and so on.
> 7: Yellow-green/Lime -green, Sap-green, Chrome green
Each has its own mythology or plant color. The amount of sun light being
reflected changes from bright green sunny lawns to pale green shady ferns.
> 8: Turquoise, Teal-blue
Turquoise is often used in rings and other jewelry in the South west and is
usually mounted in silver. It is a lucky color and possibly the color of
the fire bird.
> 9: Brown
Brown can be chocolate or a mildly fertile soil. It can be a chestnut like
a pony or a great scar upon the earth.
> 10: Black
Black can be the color of death and darkness or a licorice stick. Black can
be night time or an artistic device to fade to to signify a different
section of a story. Black can be a symbol of bad magic or of witches
familiars or a contrasting color for printing books cheaply. Illuminated
scripts and beginning of chapters are expensive.
> 11: White
Can be the color of death or of purity or of snow and ice and frozen
wastelands or of warmth and home in igloo or vole tunnel or a snowy owl.
> 12: Grey
Is often the color of bird feathers.
> 13: Pink, Melon-pink, Fuschia-Pink, Magenta
Are the color of flesh of mellons and of women.
> 14: Wine, Burgundy
Is a bright bold warm color.

I am descended from most of the royal houses of Europe as most royalty
married to form alliances so a German Princess was Queen of Russia -
Katharine The Great, and a German was also a Prince in Great Britain. Henry
the 8th seemed to marry from Spain and France and who knows where all else.
I could go on but you get the idea.
I also have Indian relatives and Mexican relatives and so on. I suspect
there are few cultures I have no relation to and those are in the Pacific
mostly once you get beyond Hawaii. "No man is an island unto himself."

Indeed. The Grey Havens was the harbour from where the elves departed
Middle Earth. This is also where Bilbo and Frodo finally have to say
goodbye to Sam and Co. as they also leave. The segment also appears in the
BBC Radio version, but fails to appear in the movie version.

I think they are acrylic paint terms. I am not sure though. It has been
years since I have seen oils and acrylics as I usually try to play around
with colors electronically which requires me to use a whole different
pallet. Light and pigment are different and I am not great with either so I
usually just send pms codes when I ask for a design in art approval.

When I did it in Maine I took a number 10 can - big metal family size
container that held food like peas or catsup or peaches or something, as big
as a big jar of pickles but not for pickles because they require glass as
they react with metal - and put it in a campfire. The can is filled with
water and onions and allowed to boil. After it has boiled down for a while
drop in a white cloth. The cloth is stained or dyed.

A fire bird is a religious symbol for some groups of native Americans and
turquoise can also have religious significance. These people also do sand
paintings on the ground during ceremonies using naturally colored sands.
The sand is poured between the hand's fingers to paint a picture which is
destroyed after the healing or other ceremony. A number of years while I
was growing up I had a sand painting design rug hung above my bed but the
design was not acknowledged as being accurate.

In a sense. I am from a class of people rather than from a country of
people. I am a member of a country of people but there are classes in the
country I understand less than people from other countries with certain
value and belief systems.
Also color varies among the classes in a society whether as a sign of a
person's rank or as communications with another coding meaning only
understood by that class. Communication is a coding of ideas and meanings
as you are suggesting.

Bright yellow, or vague yellow?
A fire bird is a religious symbol for some groups of native Americans
and
turquoise can also have religious significance. These people also do
sand
paintings on the ground during ceremonies using naturally colored
sands.
The sand is poured between the hand's fingers to paint a picture which
is
destroyed after the healing or other ceremony. A number of years while
I
was growing up I had a sand painting design rug hung above my bed but
the
design was not acknowledged as being accurate.
I think I read about sand drawings in a book called NightHawk by Martin
Cruz-Smith
The color depends on how long you boil it, the amount of water you use - I
used fresh lake water and drinking water so there would have been some
disolved minerals in the water. Rain water or water from a sand aquifer
might be different. - the type of onion might make a difference, the time
the liquid boils will change the brown side of the yellow or add black to it
if you are thinking of shades and hues, the more water you use in proportion
to onion the longer it takes to reduce. Different cloths have a different
color because some fibers will take dyes to a greater extent than others.
I guess the answer to your question is light yellow to brownish yellow.

Chrome Green referrs to the color used for paper money here in the US.
(The design of paper money has been changed in recent years, though).

I wonder if that is the base for modern stains. It seems that no matter
where I go I end up being around mines of one sort or another. One area was
rural with old iron mines in it. The timbers were rotting and letting go so
the earth's surface would suddenly fall down into the mine. There were
areas one should not walk but nothing was marked back then. One just knew
to stay on the road.
Twenty years later I was in Wyoming and there at least they were pumping
dirt back into old closed mines in Rock Springs as I remember so they might
have in the north east too. I lived for a year in New York state and
explored all over the place in the area and I taught summer nature classes
in Maine which has a great many bogs and a few mines. The bogs seem to be
much younger than those in Ireland and other parts of Europe but I assume
the water is just as acidic and they function in much the same way. I love
bogs probably because so far I have stayed on top and not fallen through the
moss.
Anyway, the mine I remember in Maine seemed to be a couple people playing at
mining banging away at granite looking for something of value. The people
who invented the iron in vinegar stain must have had to mine in much the
same way as explosives weren't invented for thousands of years. They must
have picked up a medium sized rock and banged away at a cliff face and
stirred the powder into potions and experimental water based formulas as any
scientist would. An alchemist? Would they have tried giving it to people
to drink as a cure for upset stomache and aches and pains I wonder. Since
it would have been effective they probably did it a lot and noticed their
stirring stick changing color.
People certainly are inventive and creative.
