If you take a moment, just so sit back and observe, you will notice all the
activity that has been taking place. Perhaps if you have had time, you will
have noticed the activity for several days! It begins early in the morning,
right after breakfast and extends til the days end! Jo has been scripting,
creating, crafting… …then using magic and sending invitations. Have you
ever sent 500 hand crafted invitations? No small task I assure you. Then, Jo
has gone into the work room to prepare costumes. She is keeping hers hidden,
and it will be very interesting to see what she has created!
Squirrel has been painting, draping, decorating, crafting and been a whirling
dervish of action. There seems to be no end of the Mighty Little Squirrels
talent and energy. Even the naps are so brief that they may be only the long
blink of an eye, and then, back to thoughts of the party. Squirrel has also
made fast friends of the slightly soused butterflies (smile).
Chika has been a lady of mystery and guile. Like a shadow in the forest she
appears for a moment, carrying all types of objects and strings and tools, then
vanishing. Chika has not confined herself to the Inn, but has been through the
grapevines, around the orchard, and even into the forest that edges the
Enchanted Forest and leads to the heart of Cuddleland. There is much diligence,
in spite of the soft giggles heard. What manner of surprises await the guest?
The kitchen has seen Dave work consistently and creatively. Long apple strudels
have been drawn, rolled, lightly buttered and baked. Small pumpkins have given
there all for pumpkin pies. The large pumpkins have been hollowed and emptied
for a jack-o-lantern carving contest. Of course Dave has carved a few and
placed candles in them to light the way for the guests. Ahhh, those special
candles. They last for a long time. They are presents from The Queen of the
Bees and are the finest bees wax.
Of course there is chocolate, the Enchanted Forest would not exist but for
chocolate! There is candy corn and candy apples and caramel apples. The cider
is on ice and the hot chocolate is in warmers.
There are yams, and sweet potatoes and corn. Dave has packet steamers for a
huge clam bake, and has mussels, too. There is chicken to be grilled and the
grills are brushed very clean. The coal waits the match to start the
festivities.
The Match. One Magic Match. It will light the jack-o-lanterns, the candles in
the Inn, the fires for the food and be a beacon for those who wish to come and
enjoy.
As the day draws to a close, Dave leaves the kitchen and walks out to the deck.
He scans the horizon over the sea and says aloud: Thank You! A few seconds
after he does this, he notices a fresh breeze. It comes from the SouthWest
across the sea. He walks down from the deck to the bluff overlooking the sea.
Chika and Jo exit the Inn about this time also. They are having the most
wonderful chat. They scarcely notice Dave who is standing like a statue
overlooking the water. When the do see him, they walk over to him to see him
squinting and frowning. Jo asks; Is something wrong?

After the last invitation has been sent safely on its way, Jo gives out a
big sigh of relief and heads back inside. There are still the costumes to
get ready. Jo know she must get hers ready as well as have a bunch on hand
for those who haven't got their own yet.
When she looks through the attic she finds several large boxes of various
clothes and outfits, a couple boxes with assorted accessories, and a huge
trunk with various stuff perfect for many dress up affairs. Jo takes one
look at all the boxes and wonders aloud how she's going to get through all
those boxes in time. In response, she feels something wiggling in her
pocket and she put her hand in and pulls out her wand.
A small voice cheerfully announces that it would be glad to help her with
getting all the costumes ready for the Halloween party.
"Your not going to add in any thing that will scare them?", Jo asks
suspiciously.
"Of course not! I'll only put in the right something extra that's
appropriate for the occasion.", it chuckled. Before Jo could reply the wand
wiggled around in her hand and the boxes begin to levitate and move around
the room. Various clothes, costumes, outfits, and accessories begin to come
out of the boxes and spin around so a mini-tornado appears over the trunk.
Jo watches in amazement as dresses, suites, swords, hats, and other items
fly past her before twirling into the trunk. Just after the last item is
sucked in the heavy lid of the trunk comes down with a loud bang.
"There you go! All done!", the voice cheerful announces.
"Now if someone wants costume they only have to put their hand on the trunk
for a minute and lid will open up and out will come the costume just right
for them.",it continued.
"You mean that all I have to do is put my hand on the trunk and out will
come a costume that will fit me just perfectly for Halloween?!!", Jo asks.
"You could do that.", the wand replied."But I have something special planned
for you, that is, if you're interested?!!"
"And if it's not to my liking I can always try this magic Tickle Trunk?",
She asks.
"Naturally! I show you tomorrow, just before the party."
"O.K., I'll give it a try. Now how am I suppose to move the trunk? If I put
my hands on it some costume is likely to come flying out at me.", Jo
replies.
"Just ask it to follow you. It'll go where you want it to."
"Trunk, follow me. We need to place you in one of the spare bedrooms so
everyone can change with some privacy. This way!", Jo commanded. The trunk
rose in the air and followed Jo to a spare bedroom where it settled itself
down.
At this point Jo runs into Chika who has just finished the last of the trick
and surprises for the party. They happily exchange notes on what they have
been doing.
Hugs, tugs, and Halloween surprises.

Dear Jo,
What a splendid idea! I may forego my costume idea and place my trust in the
Enchanted Trunk. It sounds wonderful!
Your magic and creativity make the Halloween Party even better!
Thank You!

You're more than welcome, Dave. Thought it would be something special, but
you might want to hold off on the thanks until we find out what magic that
wand of mine put into those costumes. I got a feeling that people may find
themselves flying, floating, and/or glowing in the dark among other things
by the end of the evening.
Hugs, tugs, and spooky surprises.

Yes, you have definitely received the same type of wand I have. Just
remember to enunciate. :)

Problem with this wand is that it seems to have a mind of its own and I.m
never sure when it will behave and it will decide to make life a bit too
interesting.
Hugs, tugs, and magic too.
