Bob Brewer of Jesup, GA

Bob Brewer was a black man who was the subject of a manhunt by a white mob of
Jesup, GA citizens in the early 1900's. Information on the subject is nil,
printed or otherwise; it's as if the incident never happened. I have
discovered, though, that citizens were forbidden to discuss the incident which,
I presume, would account for the lack of available information. Any help would
be appreciated.

MY NAME IS STEVEN ANDREWS, A DIRECT DESCENDANT OF MR BREWER.
THE STORY TOLD BY THE WHITE PRESS AT THE TIME IS HEAVELY SKEWED. THERE IS NO MENTION OF THE KLAN BY NAME, BUT THE BRUNSWICK RIFLES CALLED IN BY THE GOVERNOR AT THE TIME WAS EXACTLY THAT. FACT IS; THE LYNCHED HIS BROTHER WHICH SPARKED HIS IRE. HE KILLED PROBABLY 3 MORE MEN THAN THEY ARE WILLING TO ADMIT AND THEY WERE SO AFRAID OF HIM, THEY REFUSED TO GO BACK INTO THE WOODS TO CONFRONT HIM, KNOWING VERY WELL WHERE HE WAS. EVERYONE CALLED HIM MR BREWER OUT OF RESPECT.
THE ACCOUNTS WERE HANDED DOWN THROUGH GENERATIONS IN OUR FAMILY AND ALTHOUGH SOME OF THE ASPECTS MAY GET A BIT SKEWED AS WELL. THEY ARE A FAR CRY FROM THE INACCURACIES OF THE PRESS AT THAT TIME.
