It appears that Steve Manning's real/other name is Nick Daws: If you
go to http://steve-manning.writequickly.com/author/steve_manning.aspx
and click "Purchase," you are offered to buy a course written not by
Steve Manning but by Nick Daws.
The Steve Manning course sells for $297 - $697 on
www.writeabooknow.com and other affiliate sites, while the Nick Daws
course sells for $49.95 on www.writequickly.com. The course
descriptions look identical, except that Manning claims he can teach
you how to write a book in 14 days, while Daws can accomplish the same
in 28 days.
Although Steve Manning does not appear to be a prolific writer, Nick
Daws has written a few things, as you can verify through Amazon. In
the promotional materials for his course, he claims that he has
written a few bestsellers - non-fiction related to expat life in
Germany, Italy and Spain - which, however, currently have somewhat low
sales ranks on Amazon. N. Daws wrote the books with the help of
freelancers, whom he seems to have found through deja.com back in
1999:

If you compare the deja "Help Wanted" messages to the book publication
dates, you can see that it took the author approximately 20 months to
get published after finding collaborators. Of course, I have no way of
knowing whether the books were indeed completed in less than a month,
and were then delayed for another 19 months due to his publisher's
slow turnaround times.
I have not read the books but one person reviewing the Germany book on
Amazon said it sounded like the author had never been to Germany.
Other reviewers liked the book.
Finally, a published author - Holly Lisle - read Manning's material
and reviewed it on her website:
http://hollylisle.com/fm/Articles/manning_course_review.html
The impression she leaves is that Manning is really passionate about
the subject; however, his methods leave you with an advanced draft or
detailed plan rather than a completed salable manuscript.
Hope this helps you to make a better decision regarding the course
offered by Manning/Daws.
