What is the difference between brisket and corned beef?

corned beef is a brisket (the cut of beef is called brisket) with corning
spices added. When someone refers to brisket, they usually just mean the cut
of the meat.

Corned beef is typically a brisket that has been "corned" (i.e., soaked in a
brining solution)

Simple --- one has been "corned" pickled in brine and spices, and the
other has simply been removed from the cow.
