If you have a Boxford lathe, this is the group for you.
the group also welcomes owners of other Boxford machines.

Group description..
This group welcomes all owners and users of the fabulous range of
non-cnc Boxford lathes. Models A,B,C,T,AUD,BUD,CUD, TUD,ME10,VSL, and
any of the rare precision lathes will be supported. Any owners of
compatible lathes such as Southbend are also welcome. As no other
groups for these machines seems to exist, lets make this an
interesting place for owners to visit, and exchange ideas and
modifications.Lets also make it a good place to trade and find spares
and accessories.Id like to see all members post pics of their
Boxfords, and give a bit of detail as to what they love/like/and
loathe about their machine. Details of work you are particularly proud
of, and how you managed to achieve it are most welcome. Funny related
stories and stuff will also go down a treat. We may be bodgers of a
sort, but we are all engineers at heart !!!!

Hi, I am looking forward to contributing to this group and an experienced user. I have just converted an AUD to single phase - any help with this welcome. Dave.

I am new too this site and just working out how to post so please forgive last failed attempt!
I am just converting a VSL to single phase and do not wish too replicate the arrangement I had on my last VSL where I had electronic speed control but only had suds at full speed!
This time I plan 3phase via inverter to drive motor only and have a separate single phase supply for suds and lovolt light. Does anyone know the 'right' size run capacitor top fit to the suds pump motor for it to run on 240V? I will check to see how it is wired and alter to delta configuration of it is star connected currently.

Also does anyone know a good source of 5MT to 5C collet sleeve as the one which was supposed to be with my lathe is missing (still hoping the vendor will find it in his shed tho!)

Hi I've just joined this group and also recently purchased an old Boxford Type A.

Is there a way of clamping the saddle - I've been using the screws to tighten the rear gib bur this seems a bad method?

There is a clamp on EBay but not sure where it fits or how it works.
