Wow! a.c had 8 messages, and only one of them was meaningless spam! This
kicks ass!
It's been a quiet weekend here--John (my roommate) and most of the other
Dentonites are out of town -> Denton and San Antonio. While I was
waiting for a stuffed pizza to bake at Tony's Vineyard (expensive, but
happy happy pizza) Sapna and I went to visit this Gothic art exhibition
in the UT union. It was pretty cool--mostly paintings and photographs,
though there were a few sculpture-type things ("Warning, the those
razors are real, and extremely sharp! Don't touch"). I think I liked
the photo. best--there were some really neat b/w pictures of broken
gravestones & the like + one I really liked, with only a single tree
branch-tip in focus, with little bright drops of water hanging on the
(dead) ends. Everything else was really foggy and out of focus, and
the whole thing was COOL.
Anyway, got to read the paper + get some food.

If you come down here, you can witness the nightly reading. Right now,
I'm working my way through Ray Bradbury's (sp) _Martian Chronicles_.
I never thought reading aloud would be so much fun. :-)
Also available on request: Mark Twain, E. A. Poe, Larry Niven, and
a host of early sci-fi authors. Need to find a copy of _Across the
Sea of Stars_, by Arthur C. Clarke, still. Anyway, Since I feel
like jogging tomorrow morning, it's time to off to bed.

PS, I came back into my room from the evening read today (held in
Sapna's room since I was roommateless) to find a box of Dr. Pepper
on the floor and a cactus in a large pot on the counter. Either
John came back, but decided to leave, or I've been visited by the
promiscuous[1] stuff fairy.
[1] no, not _that_ promiscuous. Look it up.

i strongly reccomend 2001: A Space Odessey. one of the best damn books
i've ever read.

I read that story this weekend. It was pretty cool, even w/o speacial
effects.
Ray Bradury is coming to speak at the TAGT convention in about 3 weeks,
and I'm going to be there. :-)

where the alien encounters the human on the road i was going to read the
dialouge with alternating speaker positions an alternating voices and
effects deck on the alien, etc. i got the human's lines down and the other
member of the band (sometimes there are more, but always one), got
confused about what i was doing, because i didn't tell him beforehand, and
was at a point in my life where i did not even know how to let those
outside of me understand those inside of mne, and anyway, the point is,
wow, more symmetry.

Since a few weeks ago. It's been off and on (more off than on) but at
least I try. It makes me feel good to get some kind of exercise once
in a while--I got addicted to it this summer while biking unt <-> home
every day. After a while it's like, wow! there are some muscles there!

Yes, with John Williams. Jason Heid (don't know if you remember him--he
did WhizQuiz for a while while you still did) came from Trinity w/ a few
friends to see a DMB concert here on Thursday. Jason stayed the night
in our room, and left with John for Denton Friday evening. From what I
can tell, John came back through Austin, dropped off other UT Dentonites
that had been riding with in addition to Jason, continued to Trinity
(this is Sunday night), and stayed the night there. He was not back
when I left at 7:00 this morning, but I saw him at lunch. All very
comfusing . . . apparently, John's car's bearings died about 20 miles
outside of Waco and John dad had to drive down and improvise some kind
of fix . . . Matt is happy he stayed home.
Oh well--time to take an Electrical Engineering test.
