My car won't work. How should I fix it?
Does it install? Does it generate an error message when you run it? If
so, what message (IN DETAIL), etc.
But without having any idea what your symptoms are other than the
nebulous "will not work", here I go anyway with some ideas.
Try running it in compatibility mode? Probably won't work, but it's
worth a try:
Right-click on the icon, select properties/compatibility.
If that doesn't work, change it back and see the solution shown here:
http://www.winxptalk.com/ftopic76783.html
Essentially it says to change your virtual memory settings to 1000MB
or less.
I have a completely different program, Fontographer 4, with the same
problem addressed on that page, and the same solution works. It's OK
for occasional use (assuming you change the setings back after use)
but very awkward for a program you use regularly. C'est la vie. :(

Did you read the rest of my reply, including the link to the solution?
That would appear to the same as your problem. It thinks you have
insufficienct memory because you have too MUCH available! Sounds
silly, but it here's a simple example:
Older systems has smaller maximum memories - say 5 digits, and that's
all the program looks at.
If you have 75,000 it sees 75,000 - but if you have 200,000, all it
sees is the last 5 digits, 00000 - and that's not enough!
So change your virtual memory settings and see the program take off.
And by the way - it may say 'insufficient memory', but there's
probably MORE that it says - like a heading on the box, an error
number, or some additional text.

It was in my original reply.

You either can't or won't read.
If you could, you'd have found it on that page, and it's NOT the ad
for regcure.
Now go back to that page
http://www.winxptalk.com/ftopic76783.html
again, and READ the damn thing.
OK, you won't. So here's what's there: If you'd simply read my
original message and followed the links, you'd have had this three
days ago:
"To allow either MetaCreations Painter 3D or Art dabbler 2 on Windows
XP just follo these simple instructions.
1) Right click "My Computer" and click "Properties."
2) Click on the "Advanced" tab.
3) Under "Performance" click the "Settings" button.
4) Click the "Advanced" tab.
5) Under "Virtual Memory" click the "Change" button.
6) Click the "Custom Size" radio button and change the
"Initial size (MB)" to 1000.
Click "OK" a couple of times and restart your machine.
All this does is allow a smaller amount of memory to be used as the
starting point for the virtual memory setting.
Now both of these programs, and probably many other older versions of
other software, will run on Windows XP.

Please accept my apologies. I'm 72 and much too impatient.
