GREYED MENU ITEMS

I want to merge cells within a table ( I am using Corel X4 ) , but the merge
option in the Table menu is greyed out.
I have been into Tools menu , and Customization to try and find a way of
turning these items on, but cannot find a way.
Can anybody tell me the correct procedure for turning greyed out menu items
on .

Corel is a company, not a product, John. X4 is a product version, but again,
it's not a product. Corel has more than one product at the X4 version
level - you would need to specify which product you're talking about before
anyone could give a solution.
