Seems like it.... tho' House of frazer were trying to get shot of these a
few weeks ago for a instore price £59.90. Perhaps the appeal of mini-disc is
coming to an end now that ipod's and it's copy cats are taking over.
Steve
can't really justify buying one, just picked up 128MB mp3 player with
voice recorder off e-Bay for £17 including postage.

Refurbished mobile phones, Unlocking & Insurance.
More likely the non-1GB HD minidisc players are now surplus stock.
Given the relative battery life, cost and size I'd rather have one of the
new minidiscs than any of the MP3 players I've seen so far.
Geoff
how much are the 1GB minidiscs going for?
which models are they
Currys advertise one for £99.99 but they're "temporarily out of stock".

Amazon have this one

in stock for the same price.

Look for HiMD support.
The discs are 3-5 quid each, plus if you get old (150MB) discs you can
reformat them hi-density and get 300MB out of them.
I guess the more expensive ones might have USB2 support, I _think_
(difficult to tell - even the Sony site doesn't say) these are only
USB1.1... anyone know?
Geoff
A bit of research suggests that USB2 would be wasted on minidisc as the
physical writing speeds are not high enough to exceed USB1.1. That's a bit
of a blow...
The more expensive ones are (as usual) the ones that have recording
circuitry: the two I mentioned before are just players although they will
still allow you to upload music using USB (so unless you want to record live
music or conversation it's not an issue).
