May not be the right forum but has any one heard of a company advertising in
my local paper for mystery shoppers. They are called "gapbusters" and use
the address www.gapbusters.com

Dont want to give them my details if they turn out to be dodgy

Gary

gapbuster.com is a reputable international company.
gapbusters.com domain is registered to Horoshiy Inc. - (this is a
Russian name but registered in Curacao, an island in the Caribbean).
The only reference I can find to Horoshiy Inc is their involvement in a
dodgy domain name transfer.
Draw your own conclusions :-)

Gary, Done loads of work for Gapbuster. They don't pay as much as
some mystery shopping companies but the work is regular and if they
are advertising in your local paper then there must be plenty of
work about. They pay you without tax taken off straight into your
bank account and you need to then pay tax on the money. If you want
to know any more about the work email me and I will try and help.

I've used them for over a year, not fantastic money and you need to be quick to get the assignments in your area, but regular work.

What a load of crock.
Go direct to http://www.retaileyes.co.uk/home/signup.php and avoid the
pop ups etc.

What do you mean by a load of crock? Retaileyes is only one company
who does mystery shopping and there are plenty of others out there.
I have done plenty of work for gapbusters so why do you say that is
crock?

I too have worked for Gapbusters, not much, but they have always been nice
and pleasant people to deal with.

No please read the post correctly, I was diverting people from
gapbusters direct to retaileyes. The gapbusters crap caused other pop
ups, pop unders and other disreputable crap such as installers wanting
to install dialer software etc etc etc, which is why I posted the
direct link to retaileyes.

That might have been what you wanted to say but when I read it, it
just said to my post what a lot of crock. You had snipped all of the
first post on the subject and what the person who had written the first
post had said and left my post there so there was only that which could
have been a load of crock if someone hadn't seen the first post. I
have a popup blocker installed and so don't see any of the rubbish from
them anyway.

Same here.
Some of them are not worth the money though.
I turn about 20% of them down as it is obviously not worth the effort
and still get a phone call asking if I can do it for them. I explain
that I have turned them down but they still ask again to which a
polite no for a third time gets rid of them.
