AOL Disks
Not@aol
I know that people are always kidding about what to do with all of those
free AOL trial disks. Seriously, though, can they be used as a regular
disk, or do they erase easily, or something? I can't imagine that it
would be 'illegal' if you remove the label and erase the info. already on

I took my AOL CD-ROMs, punched a hole near the outter rim, drizzled them
with Christmas paints and/or glued rhinestones on 'em and gave them to
my puter friends as Christmas tree ornaments. <G>

To answer your question, yes. The easiest thing to do is use the format
function in file manager to erase the entire disk. Then it is just like
a new disk. I've done this *many* times. AOL just can't understand why
I don't want to use them :-(

Don't forget to move the little button (tab? whatever it's called) down
or you will get an error message saying the disk can't be formatted.

them @ home that I use everyday and it's make good disks to give since
we don't pay a cent!

yeah i hav'nt bought a new disk in year i must have well over 200.
though i still don't trust them enough for backing up programs, i had
one that self-destructed it self in 1 day.

The City of Columbus used CD-Roms on the Christmas Tree in front of the
City Office Building. Now I surely hope that they were previously
AOL-Prodigy,Samples,etc.
The tree looked great and I thought it was a "money-saving" idea.

They're regular disks, albeit the cheapest ever made. I have lost *so*
much data on these things -- mind you, i'd never put important stuff on
them to begin with -- that I wouldn't trust them for anything.
They seem to be condemned to coasterdom.
