Alignment Shop Scams
Has anybody else experienced alignment shop scams after they lifted
their truck? I uncovered an alignment/tire balance/sabotage scam and
took a major corporation to court. They quit doing alignments in the
state of Mississippi the day of my civil trial. I equated their
actions to attempted murder. Their defense was that I had a suspension
lift.

Which is why you wanted it realigned in the first place right. So it
was save to drive. The fact that it had a lift should have nothing to
do it. Its what they are paid to do. Most lift kits are street legal
and all require realingnment so I don't see how they could use that
for their defence.

Alignment Shop Scams In MS
They cranked up my caster to +2.1 degrees when it was supposed to be +.
3 degrees. They made it ride like it had no shocks and the excessively
high caster blew out my lower ball joints, front shocks, and strut
bushings. They also misbalanced my tires by several ounces each and
took a large pair of channel-locks to my idlerarm side tierod
adjustment nut and popped my new idlerarm out of its bushing. They try
to sell you lots of parts and services to remedy the problems they
created. This is just what Wal-Mart did. I caught other shops running
similar and also different scams. We have a totally ineffective
Consumer Fraud division(2 people) at the Mississippi Attorneys'
General Office and they don't do field investigations. When I reported
the Wal-Mart scam to the AG's office they sent a cop to my house
warning me to keep my mouth shut and to not file any complaints. I had
been tipped off in Arizona about my truck being sabotaged. Their AG
shut the same scam down out there in the mid-1980's. Wal-Mart quit
doing alignments in MS the day of my civil trial.

2.1deg caster is not what I would consider damaging, maybe 5deg+ but
it is way off spec. I don't think you could get the caster out enough
to cause damage to anything, it would just cause a pull if you got
cross caster off. Using channel locks to adjust toe is a pretty common
thing, using it to loosen the nut is kind of stupid but not uncommon.
I thought the z71 trucks have the same rack and pinion that the other
355s do? They don't have an idler arm. Big tires are a pain to balance
but not impossible, maybe the wal-mart idiot is the ranking FNG. Why
did you even take it to wal-mart? They pay those guys crap and let
them loose on vehicles they care nothing about. Take it somewhere that
isn't as obviously populated with untrained monkeys.

Isuzu Pup 4x4 Alignment Scam - Torsion Bars
I went to alignment and suspension school so that I could become an
expert at alignment scams. The numbers I gave will do what I said. I
stand by my previous statements.

why'd you go to walmart? I took mine to an alignment shop and had no
problems what so ever. I was also provided a before and after printout
of all the alignment specs as well as what GM reccomends it be set at.

Exactly what I was thinking. I guess he did get one of the only trucks
without Rack & pinion steering.

Wal-Mart Tire & Lube Express
In the beginning of my sting I singled out Wal-Mart because of
previous tampering(torsion bar ride height) and sabotaged idler arms.
They P.M.O. so I decided I was going to put them out of the alignment
business. They destroyed themselves with their own actions.
