Thanks to Robert Harris for his tips about a free web hosting site and using
an ftp client software (It's hight time that I take a course on this website
stuff!).
I've got on the purple t-shirt or in the following day, a grey t-shirt
(white maple leaf on left side), sometimes with sunglasses (you can see me
'lurking' at the side or behind the scenes, but in one photo I'm asking
James Tague a question).
The first day we got there, my buddy and I quickly walked to DP from our
nearby hotel to get a feel for the site.
Earlier that morning, I telephoned Ed Cage from this NG to say hello. He had
a cold and wasn't quite up to coming out but we chatted a bit.
James Tague (tall man with grey suit, green cap, sunglasses) was being
interviewed on tape by staff from The Sixth Floor Museum (ok, I had to get
in that picture because I didn't know if I'd see him again).
Spoke with him afterwards, and he gave me his card.
The anniversary day was completely different. There were crowds galore!
In the middle of Elm, there was a tall guy who looked familiar. I didn't go
to the small group surrounding him, but later, got the chance to see and
hear him speak...it was former Governor Jesse Ventura and his account of the
meeting he had with Fidel Castro. He shouted out to the crowds, why wasn't
the Gov. of Texas there! He told the crowds that Castro told him he
would've been stupid to have been involved in any assassination plot against
Kennedy for fear that there would have been reprisals against his island.
Another reason why he said he had no reason to assassinate him was that that
'You can talk to this man'...meaning that JFK was someone you can reason
with or work things out.
Then there was a guy wearing an old black fedora. I saw him on a demo video
from an assassination bookdealer so I said, 'I saw you in a video'...he
replied in disbelief or disgust 'You saw me in a videooo?!'. It was Ernest
Brandt. He was a bystander on that fateful day behind the Stemmons sign
(from Zapruder's viewpoint). Ernest Brandt brought his portfolio of pics in
a binder including newspaper clippings...he took the time to explain his own
theory on the assassination. He asked me if I followed him; I politely
shrugged, followed by his 'You don't believe me?!'
Then I took a photo of Ernest Brandt (fedora with fuscia golf shirt) and
James Tague (green cap, white shirt with blue vertical stripes) meeting each
other for the VERY 1st time (a world exclusive). Ernest Brandt said to Mr.
Tague 'I was there too!' as if to steal Tague's thunder....Tague replied 'Oh
really? as if he was surprised to run into others from that time. Brandt
pulled out his photo album with pics and clippings showing his exact
position, and those to back up his theories. He told me and others that he
heard 3 shots behind him from the direction of the TSBD. I asked Brandt why
he didn't stay in DP for awhile. He said he had to take a friend back to
work (it was their lunch break).
He told us that he wasn't asked to testify in front of the WC.
We also heard the speeches by the JFK Lancer people. Jesse Ventura spoke as
just described, followed by James Tague (it was Tagues first public
appearance in DP).
Beverly Oliver (blond with blue/turquoise outfit), self-proclaimed Babushka
Lady, sang the Star Spangled Banner. I believe she spoke about how Oswald
and Ruby knew each other (my friend has all this on video). She's an
attractive mature woman with a lovely voice (she would've been quite
something to watch back in the 60s). I was able to ham it up with her. I
told her that a researcher from Toronto who met her at the Sudbury
conference years ago said hello to her. She quickly replied...'Was it that
guy who gave me a hard time?'...I said that it couldn't have been my friend
(I was later told that she could have been referring to Peter Whitmey who
must have asked her many good questions *s*). Beverly Oliver signed a copy
of her book for me.
Then I took a picture, albeit only of his back I'm afraid of a guy who
someone identified earlier as Greer the limo driver. I thought to myself,
man he looks pretty good for someone that old! But I recalled that Greer
died of stomach cancer. So it turned out to be the extra used to drive the
limo on the set of the X-files in their filming of the JFK assassination
episode...this gentleman was a researcher, who dressed in a dark suit as
Greer did, signing autographs...I got his name and number but gave it to my
research-mentor up here at home. That gentleman is from Vancouver but I
can't remember his name. Crowds were interested in asking him all kinds of
questions to tap his brain.
Others included Dan Rather recording a piece the day but that could've been
from the morning before to avoid the crowds.
I did see a female journalist (a Karen?) from CNN but can't find her pic
right now.
There were other speakers (one from England...with the 'England' top) who
were researchers from out of town or the from the Lancer group.
They read out President Kennedy's speech to American University.
They observed a few minutes of silence at 12:30 pm
There was a funeral-like drum march from the people at the Conspiracy Museum
proceeding down Elm Street.
The JFK Lancer people rallied the crowds a bit with 'We want the truth'
chants.
There were peaceful protesters with their signs....'CIA Coup De Taut', 'LBJ
burn in hell', 'JFK killed Oswald'....even a guy wearing a Carousel Club
t-shirt which would've been a cool souvenir.
We met many interesting people who were there visiting just like us.
The day we left while waiting to board our plane, I was reading the Dallas
Morning News on the event. There was a page or two on the widow of Police
Officer Tippit. I thought that it was sad that a moment of silence wasn't
observed for him also (or perhaps Oswald, given that the outdoor event was
hosted by a CT group).
Finally, I saw young American servicemen in their desert fatigues saying
goodbye to their families. Maybe they were going to Iraq. They groaned when
had to remove their army boots to pass security.
God Bless America.

If so, try again another day as it instructs. Sorry but that's the price one
pays for a free service.

I just got the mother of all computers to replace my old one.....my old one
was only a Pentium I - 256 mhz MMX with 98 meg of RAM! I had Windows ME but
that's based on Win 98 and the usual security holes and bugs.

***I finally got through the bandwidth problem to see your photos. I too,
was in Dealey for the 40th anniversary. The first person of interest that
i noted, was the man in one of your photos, holding the white poster, as
he stood on the north side of Elm.
My favorite Dan Rather moment was when my co-worker and i stood in the
grassy median hoping to be in the background shot of the depository over
Rather's shoulder during the beginning of the newscast.
You had a great vantage point in front of the featured speakers on
Saturday. I was up on the wall adjacent to the Zapruder pedistal, getting
a side view.
I was curious to see if i wound up in any of your photos, but no such
luck. My co-worker was recognizable in one of your pictures, however.
Thanks for rekindling good memories.
***Ron Judge
I've got other photos that might include others but only had space and time
to include those just with witnesses.
Perhaps after I've built my own webpage, I can include more with a slide
show.
My friend also videotaped the entire outdoor speeches.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Yeah, Ricky Tobias pointed him out to me. Tague was also pointed out, &
was for a while talking to a group of people, but I didn't manage to get
near enough to him to hear much of what he was saying.
I was lucky to speak to him. I eventually got his book autographed.
Ed Cage spoke to me the morning before and told me that he'd introduce me
to Ricky Tobias...but EC had a cold and couldn't make it so I never met
Ricky.
From this post, I've found that more and more NG people were there.

I'm not surprised that a few of us could have rubbed shoulders.
