Thor,
Thank you for your informative response. I was beginning to think that I was the only one with
KDS computer, and other KDS troubles. I must spend over $300 to repair a laptop from KDS that
failed while still under their warranty, and KDS would not respond to my phone and email
requests for action to honor their warranty. The disappointing part is that KDS notebook
computers are still listed for sale on many internet sites, proclaiming the 1 year replacement
warranty. If they would not honor my warranty, I have doubts that they will honor others.
I suspect KDS monitors and other electronic equipment may be similar in their commitment handling.
Hope we have encouraged others to carefully consider their ;options before purchasing KDS product.

Amazingly, I have had a 19" KDS monitor for a little over a year. Got it
for like $150, and it's been beautiful the whole time. Guess it's a
crapshoot
It really is. I have a KDS Avitron 17" that has an outstanding picture, but
always had niggling annoying things like suddenly "winking out" to a blank
screen for a split second, every great once in awhile, or it will sometimes
suddenly make a snap sound like a voltage arc. Needless to say, I wouldn't
ever trust it enough to sell it to someone. A friend of mine had a 19"
Avitron that suddenly went super bright, and could not be adjusted down.
Despite the "KDS Kares" 24 hour replacement guarantee, they took 3 weeks to
get him his replacement. My main supplier briefly used KDS as the supplier
of their "house brand" monitors a few years ago, but dropped them due to
high failure rates, and a frustrating lack of timely replacement units from
KDS. I won't ever consider buying one for resale in my business. I just
don't have any faith in the product, or the company.
I wouldn't buy another KDS. I bought an Envision 19" monitor and, so far, so
good.

I hope you have good luck with it. Imo it pays to buy a high quality monitor
from a leading manufacturer that will guaranty it for 3 or 5 years. It does cost
more initially, but might be much less expensive over several years if the low
priced monitors don't last long.
