According to SiSoftware Sandra the PCI latency on my MB is set too high.
They reckon that if it is set to high devices can hog the bus for too long
resulting in slow transfer of data between partitions and disks, choppy
sound and crackly video. I'm getting all these symptoms, but, cannot find
any way to reduce the latency in the BIOS. Contacting Foxcom support they
tell me to reinstall the OS, but, this is a problem with the default
setting of the PCI device which the OS should not touch so I suspect
Foxcom are just avoiding the issue.
Anyone have any familiarity with this MB and know how to reduce the PCI
latency? OS is Windows XP Pro.
