Hi all

a couple of questions about a situation where a person might know the
technical side of a software or programming language but does not know
much about the consulting process.

Are there any good books about aspects of the consulting process such
as:
-whom to contact at a company to sell your services
-what to expect when discussing your services with the company rep
-what steps a company may go through when hiring an external
consultant
-sample documentation for "statement of work" etc

Thanks in advance,

JJ

Janet Ruhl wrote a couple of books that are generally well regarded. I
haven't read them myself, but you can find them here:
<http://www.realrates.com/books.htm>. FYI, that page says that
they're out of print, but Amazon claims to have both new and used
copies.

The books seem like they are exactly what I asked about.

Thank you for this Charles.

Very much appreciated.
