Old ways of accessing compuserve - dumb, telnet - available?

I have several older CE handhelds, an hp lx200, and various sundry dumb
terminals that I would like to access the local compuserve number with and
use the CIS network. I hear dumb text dial-up does not work now but what
about telnet gateway.compuserve.com ??
