Did anyone ever get in touch with Dustin Cook to let him know about RAiD?

i think dustin knows about raid... he certainly knew about raid's
viruses when he used to post in here... he'd harp on and on about them,
about av's not detecting or cleaning them properly...
just like raid, actually...

Hang on. It's you who's saying you made Dustin look like an "ass". It's
you who say you chose his name as a disguise. I'm just asking if the real
Dustin Cook knows about what you did.
What's your problem?
I see you've changed the subject line so it didn't mention Dustin Cook.
You seemed to do that a lot in the past too. I've put it back again.
Wow. Very impressive band*length*, George.
Staale, I nominate Mr. Wenzel as acv superstud.

ummm.. since i'm talking about his posts then they're going to have to
cut it as evidence (they prove the poster knew about your viruses,
certainly, whether he was the real dustin cook or not i can't say but
i'll give him the benefit of the doubt since no one else seems to want
to take credit for being him)...
and anyone can use dejanews to search this group for dustin cook's
messages and verify their contents themselves... i imagine many of the
regulars have already seen what i'm refering to..
> Hrmm... I guess you best get to measuring it then eh? To make sure. haha
This is one case wher we'll accept the evidence you've presented (wrt
length, anyway) without question. Might put an asterisk next to the cite,
though: * Measurement data provided by Raid.

Dare we ask what he uses as a measure?
Art :)
actually dustin admitted to writing replicating code that could infect
mcafee's scanner without it detecting the change... only as a test
though...
so that's another thing you have in common, you've both written
viruses...

my recollection is that you also write file encryption software...
> You'll find while we both used the same language; We don't code the same way!
of course, you grew up and probably your programming style reflects
this...

Ok; ok: you made an observation that imples a measurement -- one I surely
would have thought impossible, before you made that observation. Frankly, I
have difficulty believing it now....

Sorry; my information is based only on your observation, plus the facts of
geography. But I've probably been silly enough in this digression, o perhaps
I'll bow out now.

actually more than one virus... he was aware of the entire weed family
and one called (let me see, i think it was) gremlin...

nice weaseling, raid... i said he harped on detection and disinfection
(or lack thereof) much like you did... he didn't much complain about
being infected by them... he used them almost excusively when he needed
a viral example, much as you tended to do..

what's that? isn't it you who typed this article i'm replying to?

not "a" dustin cook... the same dustin cook who announced the
availability of certain crypto shareware in alt.comp.shareware... the
same crypto shareware you claim he wrote...
never said it did... i don't believe there is conclusive proof
available, only a mountain of circumstantial evidence...

ok, you got me there, inappropriate use of a plural form...

y'know i was going to concede, but no i think i'll take a lesson from
you and be stubborn... i looked it up through dejanews and in article
<6aflva$eo1$1...@news.usit.net> you said :
<quote>
Stupid..IE: Lacking in intelligence. Hrm...Let's see here, I wrote

oh, i don't know, mine has improved a great deal since age 10 or so...
correct you are, they do seem to be the same... though you called it
gremlin when you posted the source... (or at least one of the times you
posted the source)...

what it means is that you and he are pretty much the only people i've
ever seen use them as examples so exclusively...
> Many people in the past of this newsgroup have complained about issues

it wasn't the harping so much as the intense focus on your viruses..

same email address in the headers... not unquestionable proof of course,
but other things being equal it's pretty good evidence...

didn't try, i was just trying to show they were the same dustin cook...
one has to generate a body of knowledge about 2 people to be able to
compare them to each other...
I've never been to Alberta, let alone met George. I did send George some
socks once.
Overall I suspect my connection to George is less tenuous than your
connection to Dustin Cook Esq. But feel free to change the subject if it
makes you feel better.

Err.. I didn't mention the subject line. I was referring to your
technique of changing the topic of conversation (for instance your
suggestion that I was more than familiar with George) whenever you
want to avoid answering a question.

no no, that's *a* message you posted. Not the one I'm talking about now.
I was referring to your abusive message about George and me getting up to
various sexual activity. Try and follow the thread.

The "Dustin Cook" bit of the message didn't appear on my screen because I
scrolled off. Check out how long you'd made the subject line. That's why
I thought you'd removed it. But I'm no longer talking about that. I'm
talking about the way you change the subject to one of insults and sexual
innuendo (for instance "WankerBoy") when you can't tackle the subject
ermm.. in hand.
You do see that the subject being discussed and the subject line are two
different things? You do understand that don't you?
??? whose penis did he accuse you of having in your mouth? i haven't
seen anything of that calibre coming from graham, maybe they're just
being cancelled...

actually, you mentioned the name before graham did...

Err no. You mentioned Dustin Cook before me. I merely responded to your
post.
> I'm guessing to get a rise out of me?
I was just responding to your mention of Dustin Cook. If you didn't want
me to respond to your reference to Dustin Cook, maybe you shouldn't have
mentioned Dustin Cook.
> As for the sexual innuendo; Hey man, If you can't take the heat,

I don't understand why you get so upset when I mention Dustin Cook's name.
Especially after you'd already mentioned it. If it hadn't been for you in
the first place we'd probably never have heard of Dustin Cook.
> You backoff, and I will. There is no middle ground. The balls
> in your court (hehe) sort of speak.
What do you want me to backoff?
I merely asked if anyone had ever contacted Dustin Cook to tell him about
you (you happened to mention Dustin again which prompted my question).
Suddenly you get all upset and start suggesting George Wenzel and I are
intimately acquainted..
Dear Graham,
Just like you, I am very baffled by the comment. Not that I would
necessarily want to know. But at least that seems like some person's
name. Well, if we really wanted to find out, I guess that's what
http://www.dejanews.com is all about.
