How do I detect and remove a virus when I can't install anti-virus software
due to the virus AND I have no idea what the virus is? Please email me
directly, as I have to go to work soon where I will sort this out but i do
not have newsgroups there.

If the virus also won't let you go to any of the major anti-virus
sites, then try http://www.claymania.com/anti-virus.html and see
whether you can get to F-Prot/Dos from there. Also, print out the
instructions from there.
