I want to buy one of the $250 refurb Vx's from handango, but I am worried
about quality and service. I have bought a lot of downloaded software
there, but would like feedback on how well they handle actually shipping
physical products and problems with them.

Why would you pay 250 for a refurb when you can get a new one at
Staples.com for about 260 with the coupon from Dealspree.com.? The
coupon codes are listed at Dealspree...you just enter them at the
Staples site when checking
out. There is currently one for 40 off.
