I have had to replace my one month old treo 650 because of a damaged
headphone jack. I was using plams "L" adapter to plug in my regular
headphones to listem to some music. Upon removing the adapter the treo
thought it was still plugged in. No sound form the speaker. I`m nervous to
use this device on my new unit.

Anyone else have the same problem. Or did I just get a bad jack to begin
with ?

I've had a similar problem with my Treo 600 although I never replaced it or
did anything about it. When I plug in the regular handsfree headphone
sometimes I would get the MP3 sound coming through the earpiece (and the
person on the other end would not be able to hear me). When I plugged in the
L connector or another connector and connected my stereo headphones to the L
connector (or the other connecter), the sound from my MP3's would be
significantly louder from one side than the other side. There is nothing
wrong with my MP3's and nothing wrong with my stereo headphones so I know
the problem is with the headphone jack (tried my friend's L connector, my
Seido 2-in-1 adaptor, and my L-connector and they all have the same problem
where the sound is louder on one side).

I wonder if the problem is caused by the L adapter itself ? I talked with
someone else who uses the phone earbud and has never had this problem. I`m
afraid to plug the adapter in on my new treo.
