No. The REX is a scrolling-only interface. There's no input past the scrolling
arrows.
Having said that, I must admit that it scrolls through huge lists _extremely_
quickly.

Hi,
Does the REX allows searching? If I can't search a phone number by a
person's name fast enough, then probably it's less usable. But it's
certainly good for schedule lookup.

..REX is VERY cool technology. You can read the screen by starlight if
necessary - I would love a notebook/palmtop screen that was as crisp and
readable!

Not even comparable. The REX screen is really unique in its clarity. Part of
that is, I suspect, is due to whatever anti-glare coating is used.
--Kevin
Well, you can clearly read the Libretto's screen by starlight. The
problem is you cannot read it by sunlight!! (G)

Mind like a steel trap..
Rusty and illegal in 37 states.
Yeh, a notebook squished into a palmtop - can't see the tiny, tiny letters...
I'll be more impressed when they either crate a DOS based interface or at least
open the data/sync interfacing information to the public so that people can
interface the thing with platforms OTHER that Windows based machines... It's
the standard "we don't care about non-windows platforms" attitude.
MANY of us palmtop/subnotebook users are DOS based... Heck.. Just the
HP-95/100/200 communityALONE is HUGE! You figure making an interface for DOS
would be a real breeze.... Hmm.. I wonder if we'll just get blown off or if
they will actually take this letter to heart.

And why should they? No offense (and I'm a hardcore Linux user), but when Franklin
can't make them fast enough, why should they bother with fringe markets?

I don't think it's recommended. A better place would be your shirt or suit
packets.

Does it support Windows CE?
If not I think that will be a much better market to target for them. That's
the OS the new HP LX machines runs. Seems to be smarter to make things that
support current technology and the buyers of it.
Well, just MHO.

Well I got mine recently and I can say I wasn't impressed with the
bundled Starfish software. I don't know if it was bad luck, but it took
me a while to get up and running. I had a lot of info merging in the data
fields in the REX which were from poor synchronizing (???). After the 3rd
or so software install I got things going.
Love the REX. Very useful but I'd like to ask for the thing to be
able to transport updated info like completed tasks back to the REX
manager. Oh well.
Has anyone tried the synch packages for the other PIM managers.
Seeing how Starfish has so far dissappointed me with their weak PIM I'm
nervious to plunk down money for the Synch or for Sidekick 98.

To reply, please remove the extra "net" from my

Mine is dead right now, but when working it's a great and useful unit.
I'm waiting for a replacement.

I am using the Starfish Sync with Outlook 98. I like it a lot better than the
bundled software. With the Outlook Sync, all the field to field links are
predefined. You can set it up so that it will sync completed tasks back to
Outlook, although I don't use this feature.
