Using Pilot with Macintosh

The Pilot 1000 and 5000 products sold today include the Pilot organizer,
Pilot Desktop software for Windows and the Pilot Cradle with a PC serial
connector. The Pilot device itself is designed to work on both Windows and
Macintosh computers. The missing components that provide Macintosh
compatibility are the desktop connectivity software and the appropriate
adapter to enable the cradle to be connected to the Macintosh. U.S.
Robotics will make the Macintosh version of Pilot Desktop and adapter
available in the Pilot Mac Pac described below.

The Pilot Mac Pac

The Pilot Mac Pac is the Pilot solution for Macintosh. The Mac Pac consists
of the Pilot Desktop software for Macintosh (including the desktop PIM and
HotSync software) and an adapter enabling the Pilot cradle to be connected
to a Macintosh modem or printer port.

A complete Macintosh solution requires a Pilot 1000 or 5000 and the Pilot
Mac Pac. Anyone who has ordered Pilot for Macintosh directly from U.S.
Robotics before June 24, 1996, will receive the Pilot Mac Pac free. The
average market price for the Pilot Mac Pac is expected to be $14.95 (Part
number: 90104U). The Mac Pac is scheduled to ship in November. The Mac Pac
will be available wherever Pilots are sold, as well as directly through
U.S. Robotics/Palm Computing. In the U.S. call us at 1-800-881-7256. In
Canada call 1-800-891-6342 extension 203. Elsewhere, call us at
1-408-848-5604.
