I did a lot of research before I bought my treo 90. but I never used a pda
before and had no clue about how I was going to end up using it.
I ended up getting the sony nx60 it s fantastic.
it's a hard choice to find the one you really need.

The best way bout it is to get a basic one first. I reccomend the Palm
Zier. It is only $99 and has a rechargable battery. The down side is the
2mb of memmory. However it will give you some idea as to what you want to
use it for. And if you only use it for 6 months (Or less) at least you did
not invest $500 on one that you do not use 1/2 the features of. My first
palm was a Palm III that had a screen problem. I fixed the screen and the
owner gave it to me. I used it for about 6 months then I got a Palm IIIC
for Christmas. I LOVED it but 8mb of memmory is not alot when it comes to
color. The color version of the games & apps I was using took up more room
than the B&W. I then accidentally dropped it & cracked the backlight bulb.
(It works great if I could gat a bulb). I then went back to my Palm III for
a couple of months till I got a Handera 330 for my Birthday. This is my
favoriate one so far! I have a 128mb CF card & a game SD card installed.
So now I have MORE room than I need. I ordered a Sony NR70V on Friday &
should get it on Monday. I am not planning on replacing my Handera with it,
It is going to be a fun machine only. For games, music, pictures, vidoes...
An expensive toy. I also have a Kyocera 6035 smart phone. It kicks butt,
It is the BEST cell phone I have ever had. I can have 1,000's of names. I
can make my own ringers from WAV files, and surf the net with any PQA or any
palm app with internet cappabilities.

Zire.

Palm m130 is more than twice as expensive, has also a Li-Ion Accu, and
additionally a color display, SD-Slot, and 8 MB RAM.

Sorry I have trouble spelling sometimes, but I was clos enough to get the
point across. The reason I reccomended the Zire is because it is simple,
small & inexpensive. It is a good one to get your feet wet with. After you
have used one for a while and know what you want to do with it (Aside from
scheduling, and contact management) you can pick the one that fits your
needs.

The reason I went with another Palm device instead of going somehwere else
is because I already have a TONE of games & software for Palm. I also
already know how it works, so I can have fun right away instead of having to
figure out what I want to do first. Besides there are better games for palm
than for the Sharp Zaurus. Next step, is a PPC (Only because there are
games like DOOM, and Shadow Gate.) But that is at least a year away.

There is a MAME port for the ZAURUS and sure also a Doom port, so I
don´t believe, there is ANY need to buy a PPC.

Well, is the Zarus color? Does it have good sound? There are other games
(RPG mainly) that are available for Win CE.

well, sure.

I don´t know <g> but the 5500 does not have a built.in speaker, the new
5600 will have one. Both versions support MP3.
