How does the availability of medical reference applications for Palm
compare to those for CE? Is there a medical 'killer app' that make the
choice between Palm & E obvious?

Thanks for the info. I'm researching this for my wife, who is in her 2nd year of med school and wants a
PDA for Christmas. Several of her classmates have Palms. I have gotten several EMails that indicate that
the Palm seems to be the choice. I am considering the Visor version - I like its options, and I've heard
that the software is more Macintosh friendly than the Palm (my wife uses a PowerBook.)

Just wanted to clarify - All Palm models (made by Palm Inc., Handspring,
TRG, Symbol, etc.) all run the same operating system, and therefore are 100%
compatible.

Make sure you get a Visor Deluxe, Palm Vx, TRGpro or other 8MB Palm
device. A lot of the Medical apps are huge. My wife completely filled
up the 8MB storage in about 2 weeks.

The visor is nice because of the springboard module, the TRGpro is nice
because of the CF slot. The CLIE is nice because of its size (my wife
has small hands), and the potential that Sony will make use of the
memory stick slot.

Just make sure that you purchase an 8MB model like the Vx, Visor Deluxe
or CLIE. Medical apps for the palm are very large.

Some apps that may be of use:

5 Minute Clinical Consult
eProcrates (drug reference)
Medscape ePharmacopedia (drug reference)
Teal apps (for accessing databases)
