SH888 and Palm III?

Hi,

I have a Palm III and recently got an Ericsson SH888.
I've tried to connect to my ISP without success.
I have the IrDA upgrade from 3Com and I'm also trying the IrLink
from IS/Complete.
The IrDA Device Discovery in IrLink works fine, it finds the SH888.
The DI27 SW also works fine.

What kind of modem settings are required?
Is there anything else that is required?
When dialling the ISP, will that number show up on the SH888?

I use the standard modem settings:
Speed: 38400 bit/s, Flow: Standard, Init-String: AT&FX4.
Any other settings in /network should be different for some ISP´s.
E.g.: my ISP university does not require a script for login, others
might. My settings in /network/details are PPP, IP-addresses for
primary and secondary DNS and automatic IP. You should ask your ISP
for this information.
Make sure that the Serial/IR is set to Infrared (finding out about
this took me awhile ;-), but since DI27 works, you´re probably aware
of this.

Yes, it will!

In order to get mibile data to work you must ask your operator to open
that service.

If you use Telia it will cost you 30 SeK per month. See Telia's web at

The modem initstring I use is AT&F, and the ISP I user has ISDN dialup
so I can use that from the GSM network. Make sure that your cellular
provider has enabled data calls (additional charge on some networks).
On connecting then the SH888 should show the number of the ISP for
dialling and soon after connect show DATA once the data call
established
