M505. Most stylish, smallest, lightest, newest OS, upgradeable flash,
expansion slot, great color screen.

(Of course, regarding the color screen, this is assuming the rumors
about it are true, which is a good bet).

Might I add an additional thought though: it's usually not the best idea to buy
into the first-run of most things -- especially cars and Palms. I can almost
guarantee that at least the first few batches of M500/5s will have their share
of bugs to be worked out. Unless you have the patience and desire for such
adventures, I'd advise staying away until the serial numbers count up a bit.
It's also a good idea to wait for a few reviews and user reports.

Further complicating things is the likelihood of these new Palms shipping with
OS v4.0. Now, on top of the inevitable hardware quirks, we have OS issues with
existing software at hand. I have yet to witness 100% backward compatibility,
especially with a major release upgrade. I'd just assume allow the development
community a little more time to catch up.

I think these new Palms will be great. I'm just saying I wouldn't want to be
the first kid on the block to have one.

Hi, I'm gonna buy a PDA but not sure which one to go for. Can anyone offer
some advice. I'm considering the Sony Clie 300, HS Visor Edge, Palm Vx, Palm
M505 and Compaq iPaq. I think I'm most likely gonna get something based on
the Palm OS because there's more support for it. TIA.

Who cares. Go for it. If there are problems Palm always handles it, or just
return it for another one. I'd rather have something in my hands than wait
six months because of a potential problem.

What ever you do go for color. Its WAY better than monochrome.
