I've a new TX, with a wireless access point. I've configured the TX to pick
up email, and it does from my ISP account. On the Google mail account I get
a message: "There is a delay in server communication causing a timeout.
Please try again."

The odd thing is, I can pick up the mail from the same account on a
colleague's LifeDrive every time I try. And another colleague can get his
gmail account on his TX. I've repeatedly deleted and redone the account on
my TX, with no change in results.

Any ideas?

Hi
Sorry I can't be of any real help, but I have the same problem with one of
the two e mail accounts I have with different ISP's. It works about 1 out of
every 10 try's. On the other account it's never failed. It's very
frustrating.

This works for me:
ACCOUNT SETUP
Account Name: (whatever you decide)
Mail Service: US-Gmail (this was a choice on version 3.1c, otherwise
use Other)
Protocol: POP
next
Username: your...@gmail.com
Password: *********
next
Email Address: your...@gmail.com
Incoming Mail Server: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
next
Advanced
Incoming Server Settings:
Port Number 995
[check] Use Secure Connection (SSL)
[no check] Use Authentication (APOP)
next
Outgoing Server Settings:
Port Number: 587
[check] Use Secure Connection (SSL)
[check] Use authentication (ESMTP)
Username: your...@gmail.com
Password: ************
Done
OK

Also, make sure POP is enabled for your GMail account.

Hope this helps

Hi,

My versamail/gmail account is set up as above and receives messages
fine. It can also send messages OK as long as they don't have an
attachement.

However, I'm having no joy sending attachments? Nothing gets through
at all, but I'm not getting any error messages...

Any ideas appreciated.

David
