Birthdate sucks data out of your address book, say if you name a
catagory "Birthday", it searches for that, finds all the instances,
and then creates events for them. It will also create a reminder 'x'
days ahead, if you want. Great little piece of software.

You also don't have to leave it on your pilot full time, if you're
low on ram- install it, do a update of the birthdays you've got, then
remove it, though that can create duplicates.

Many also use it to keep holidays in their Pilot.

I've noticed with this program (at least the trial version) that if I
have a company entry, the birthday is noted with that name, not the
persons. Is there a way to change this?

It's important to note that the pilot<->notes conduit mentioned in
this post no longer looks like it's going to be a commercial product,
or even updated again.

The >RUMOR< is that while this conduit was developed by the Notes
guys, the official PalmPilot support is going to come from the Lotus
Organizer crew.

It's an excellent program. Although sophisticated I"ve not encountered
any problems with it. It's great for any sort of regular date.

Ed,

I am exceptionally pleased with Birthdate. The only problem I've
encountered is with synching with Ecco Pro 4.01 which, unfortunately, does
not synch separate fields for first and last names. Manually working
around this problem on the Pilot, though, is worth the effort.

I especially like being able to list ALL family members' birthdays and all
anniversaries under one phonebook entry. Simply running the program, then
hitting the Today option lets me know at a glance the birthdays and
anniversaries coming up. Then, off to the store to get the appropriate
greeting cards for the upcoming events! Also, the Birthdate Notify options
are most helpful for signaling upcoming events.

Wolfgang is very supportive. He was quick to provide an upgrade for Ver
2.0.

Birthdate is one of two "must-have" supplemental Pilot programs for me (the
other being JShopper!).

Hope this helps!

Karl

And that goes for any annual event - anniversaries etc.

*WedAnn name dd/mm/yy

You can also enter these in a note attached to an Address book entry.
