Has anyone used a program from PalmGear.com called Fake Virus. I like
the idea of the program:

"Ever have someone come up to you and ask to "play" with your PDA? You
tell them no but they keep begging to play with your "toy" and you don't
want to let them have it for fear of them stabbing at the screen with
the stylus and jamming the buttons too hard. Well never be placed in
that situation again. Whenever someone asks to use your PDA, just start
up the VirusScan app and show them that it's doing something and can't
be tempered with at the moment. Simple as that."

However when I unzipped this file, it unzipped as follows into a temp
directory that I created on my C 'Drive':

C:\Temp\FakeVirus\WINDOWS\Desktop\Alex (SneakerNet)\Fake Analyzer.

Anyway I was just a little concerned that it could be a malicious
program uploaded to PalmGear.

I usually run any palm software (downloaded from the Internet) in
Emulator first before install to Palm device.

Hi Kirstin,

I read your post. After reading a post by an Art Hagen, about viruses,
and your post I decided to download the program and install it. I have
not noticed anything out of the usual. Also FWIW, I have encountered a
couple of folks at a previous job, one of whom was my supervisor, who
wanted to "play" with my Palm m500. I was not comfortable with their
doing so, so this program would have been nice to have. Some people are
hard on things and don't realize it. Some take excellent care of things
and when those things are quite old they are still in excellent condition.

Hi Web,

I am afraid that what you are talking about is over my head. But I did
get another reply by someone who said that the program had not given
them any problems that they could discern. Thank you though for your help.

Hi E. Bruce,

Thank you for your kind reply. I had already downloaded the program,
and have installed it. Maybe it will help in the future.
