This month's EXE magazine contains two articles about software
development for the Pilot. One is a review of available development
tools for a number of PDAs and palmtops, the second is a specific look
at developing an app for the Pilot in C (CodeWarrior IIRC). Both
articles are by the same author, the guy who wrote the application
'Found It'.

For further details check out their online site at http://www.exe.co.uk/

Thanks, but:
The mag and the access to the web site is on subscription only, its
meant mostly for Brits (although it has same continental European
subscribers), and the link is correct but currently down.

Great help you are.

/Erwin

BTW: I started reading the article on Monday and have it currently on my
desk.

Yes, you do need to subscribe for EXE online but the subscription is
free. The mag is a general developers magazine and is available by
subscription to anywhere in the world---though most of the ads are, and
all of the spelling is, British. The editor, though, is French, I
believe.

I tried to be :(

If anyone does want EXE's telephone number, address or subscription
details then do let me know---they will sell one off issues as far as I
know.

You can remind me of the author's name then:)

Thats easy: Iain Barclay aka Haus of Maus. The app's real name of what
you were referring to is FoundMe? (thats probably why you havn't found
the authors name in the archives).

Yes, you can subscribe from everywhere in the world, but who in the
world did know b4 you started this thread?

And apart from winding you up, its a well written article to get a
feeling of what programming for the PalmPilot is about. I expect some
more in depth stuff to follow real soon.

Really?! Better tell the editor :)

The text of both EXE articles will go online at www.exe.co.uk on March
1st - EXE have a policy of not 'onlining' content until 1 month after
publication. I am arranging for the content to go onto RoadCoders then as
well.

Meanwhile, there's lots of good Pilot programming reading in the articles
section of www.roadcoders.com/pilot - especially the content of Handheld
Systems.

Hope this helps,
Iain
