I want to be to connect my 100LX to my current PC which has MS Windows XP.

I could do it with my older PC's but they have expired. Have got Palm
Connect and the cable & connections for the older systems.

TIA Cheers, LPS.

An alternative is to use a compact flash card (with adapter) and a USB
card reader. Since we were already using CF cards to expand the storage
in our HPs, adding the card reader was very easy.

You do lose some of the backup options (like copying only those files
that have changed), but the speed is so much higher than you probably
won't care. You do have to copy all files on the C: drive to the A:
drive to back them up, and vice versa.

Thanks to you both (.avolver and Evelyn) for your information.
I use a CF card in my camera but can I use any CF card on the 100LX? or are
there some that are not suitable? Also any suggestions on where to get a
card adaptor for the CF card to PCMCIA Card slot. Perhaps It would be better
to get a PCMCIA Card for my LX?

Cheers, Peter S.

amazon.com and ebay both have them (search for the words pcmcia card
adapter).

If you get a PCMCIA card for your LX, I'm not sure how you'd read it on
your PC. Does it have a PCMCIA slot? I don't know if they make card
readers that take PCMCIA cards.

See <http://www.daniel-hertrich.de/200lx/> for lots of info on different
cards. For example, it tells you that the SanDisk "Ultra CompactFlash"
don't work in HPs. (Regular SanDisk are fine.)

With the adapter, you can easily buy bigger cards, etc., if you want.
If you get something more than 128Mb or so, you may need a special
driver for it--it's called acecard.com and I'm sending it separately via
email in case you can't find it by googling. Be aware that if you have
a 512Mb card that's mostly full, it will take about 15 seconds to open
the filer!
